K!dney thief Joe Tate returned to Emmerdale this week, and is keen to get Caleb on side after everything he’s done. Catching up with Noah in the Woolpack last night (Monday, April 14), Joe shared his intention to get closer to Caleb and the Miligans.
“I think I should get to know uncle Caleb. Get some dirt on him. It’s always good to stay one step ahead with people like that. Just in case,” he informed Noah.
But to what end?

Caleb keeps his enemies close as Joe digs for dirt
Suspicious Caleb hasn’t quite learned the truth about Joe yet… but he’s no fool either. How will he react when he learns that Joe was responsible for his attack? And, as Emmerdale spoilers tonight reveal that he invites Joe for a family lunch, Caleb is keen to keep Joe exactly where he can see him.
And, as for Joe, what are his reasons for sidling up to Caleb and the Miligans? A guilty conscience… or something more sinister?
A new fan theory has emerged, suggesting that Joe might be digging for dirt on Caleb so as to escape justice when the time does finally come.

Joe planning on blackmailing Caleb, Emmerdale fan theory predicts
Sharing their thoughts on social media, fans began to speculate what Joe’s latest scheme might be. And some wondered whether he might be looking to use the Miligans’ secret as a way to evade retribution for his k!dney crime.
“Caleb will find out that Joe arranged the stabbing and stole his k1dney. However he won’t get reported as Joe will find out about them k!lling Anthony and blackmail him over it. Be his way to stay in the show longer maybe until his role in the limo crash gets exposed,” wrote one fan on Reddit.
“Blackmail material maybe in case Caleb gets an inking where his k!dney ended up, or even questioning Joe’s involvement given the whole weird doctor/clinic thing, finds out Joe wasn’t where he said he’d gone etc…” predicted another, over on X.
Will Joe learn about Anthony’s murder and subsequent cover-up?
