BBC hit gameshow The Traitors is nearing its nail-biting final but Claudia Winkleman made sure to add a huge new role into the game which could hinder Charlotte’s gameplay
The Traitors viewers said they’re ‘gutted and furious’ after Charlotte Berman posted a final preview of the show.
Last night, her chance of snatching the prize-fund was looking incredibly slim after Francesca Rowan-Plowden won the power to find out her true status. The twist, which came in the closing moments of the episode, threatened to undermine Traitor Charlotte’s devious gameplay, which earlier saw Freddie Fraser being banished from the castle, having only been a Traitor for less than a day.
Claudia Winkleman introduced the new twist – The Seer – which gives one contestant the power to find out whether one other contestant is a Faithful or a Traitor during the tense episode. “The Seer has the power to learn one other player’s identity,” Claudia said. “The Seer will invite one player this evening to a private, face-to-face meeting. That player that they’ve chosen, will have no choice and must reveal if they are a faithful or a traitor. This power could turn the entire game on its head.”
On Friday morning, Charlotte took to her page to share a preview picture of her having dinner with Francesca. She captioned the eery post: “When Seer meets Traitor over a candlelit dinner… [facepalm emoji].” Fans were shocked and rushed to the comment section to share their fury.

Fans were annoyed by the new twist
“No!!! Undoing all your hard work. I can’t believe they’re going to give the entire game away before the last episode I’m so disappointed!!!” one person said and another added: “Gutted for you! You was playing such a good game. I think you could have recruited Leanne and worked together to win the game.”
“She just HAD to choose you for goodness sake! So annoyed for you. Great entertainment though; can’t wait to see if you manage to overcome this obstacle,” another added. On The Traitors, if the Seer chooses to find out Charlotte’s real status in the game, her chance of winning will be seriously hindered – and potentially ruined altogether.
With the final taking place soon, The Seer is likely to reveal their findings to the rest of the contestants – but will they believe them? With fans sussing out what The Seer twist means for the game, some have taken to social media with their worries about how it could affect the final. “I feel like a ‘seer’ type role is too much power for the stage of the game where there’s no consequences,” one viewer wrote. “Unless it can go to any player (including traitors) who can straight up lie, or feed each other to the lions.”
Another said: “Not enough people talking about ‘The Seer’. Could change the overall outcome massively.” A third wrote: “Presumably the Seer twist could also scupper Charlotte’s plans.”
