April Windsor is at the centre of a huge storyline after running away over Christmas when she found out she was pregnant

April Windsor is at the centre of a huge storyline after running away.
The teenager went missing a few weeks back on Christmas Day, with it now being revealed that she was terrified after finding out she was pregnant and didn’t want to cause trouble for the rest of her family.
She decided she wanted to leave the village and head to Leeds to stay with friends, but soon she realised no one wanted her with them and in the end, she ended up sleeping on the streets.
Tragically, April had a stillbirth whilst she was living on the streets. A passer by eventually found her and she was rushed to hospital, where Marlon Dingle and Rhona Ghoskirk finally learned about what had happened to her.
The doctor gave an update yesterday, telling Marlon and Rhona: “Your daughter’s stable. There were fragments of tissue left inside her uterus, which we’ve removed and given antibiotics for the infection. She’s still very weak and there are signs of malnutrition, which is to be expected … You need to give her time. She’s had a high risk pregnancy and a traumatic delivery under some difficult circumstances. Her body will heal but on the other hand -“

Marlon cut her off, adding: “We’ll deal with all that. We will, we’ll do whatever it takes. She’s coming home.”
Viewers of the ITV soap will remember April was born back in 2009. The daughter of Marlon Dingle and Donna Windsor, as April got older, she grew more curious about who her father was.
Donna was pregnant with April when she took a new job in Essex. She thought Ross Kirk might be the father, but he wasn’t, and then a man called Barry – Donna’s new partner – wanted to raise the baby as his own. However, Donna had always been adamant that Barry wasn’t her real father and in January 2011, it was finally revealed that Marlon was April’s dad.
Tragically, Donna died after jumping from a building to save her daughter April. She told Ross Barton to tell April that she loved her, and then devastatingly, Marlon had to tell April about her mum’s d3ath.
Marlon was awarded full custody of his daughter April and she went to live with him alongside her half-brother Leo. April is also connected to the Hopes via Donna’s half siblings Cathy and Heath and their father Bob, who April calls her grandfather.
