Lorraine Kelly makes 6-word dig about previous guests during Strictly star chat
ITV’s Lorraine Kelly welcomed JLS star JB Gill onto the show and spoke about how delightful the band are before making a cheeky swipe at some previous guests on the Lorraine sofa
Lorraine Kelly has made a cheeky dig at her previous boyband guests on the ITV show as she praised JB Gill and the JLS stars for being “an absolute delight”.
The Scottish television presenter welcomed the Strictly Come Dancing star onto today’s show to chat about his upcoming book and spoke about how she had interviewed JLS many times since their X Factor debut in 2008.
“Thank you so much JB, give the boys my love,” she told JB at the end of the chat. “You know how fond I am of all of you – you were always an absolute delight when you came in.”

“No nonsense, not anything, they were just absolutely lovely.” However, Lorraine then quipped: “Can’t say that about them all!”
Lorraine, 65, has spoken to a countless number of boybands and musical guests since her show began 25 years ago, from Boyzone and Busted to Hanson and Blue.
Earlier in the show, Lorraine spoke about Queen Camilla welcoming a new furry family member into the royal household. The Queen Consort adopted eight-week-old rescue pup Moley after the tragic death of her beloved Jack Russell Terrier, Beth, last year. “Good for her, that’s great!” Lorraine said.
This week, Lorraine didn’t hold back when speaking about Alec Baldwin and his wife Hilaria’s new reality show, calling the series “strange”. Speaking to Ross King, Lorraine unpacked the new show, titled The Baldwins – which follows Alec and Hilaria as they raise their seven kids.
The show will also feature Alec’s reaction to his July 2024 trial, after he was charged with involuntary manslaughter for discharging a prop gun which killed cinematographer Halyna Hutchins on the set of Rust in 2021.
Lorraine exclaimed: “Ross, I find it utterly utterly bizarre.” Ross replied: “I’m not a fan of reality TV you know because I think the only thing that’s real about it is the word real being in reality itself.
“I find it watchable but I’m still trying to figure out why they actually would do it? I think Alec comes out of it better that Hilaria but then he’s a huge movie star and he’s got charisma.”
Lorraine added: “Watching that and looking at that I just find the tone very strange. You know one minute they’re talking about… and there’s kids running about… and there’s plinky plonky music and it’s all bedlam. Then they’re talking about something so serious and so devastating.”
