LIVE SH0CK: Strictly Star George Clarke’s Memory LOSS During Live Show Sparks PANIC Among Fans

Strictly Come Dancing star George Clarke has made a shock confession about what really happens when he steps onto the dance floor — revealing he often has no real memory of the performance at all. The YouTuber-turned-ballroom-contender, who’s partnered with new professional dancer Alexis Warr, told Express.co.uk in an exclusive interview: “I feel like each time that I’ve danced, apart from last week when it was more upbeat, I’ve been very much locked in and then just sort of – I feel like I just black out and then I just wake up at the end of the dance like oh – we did it.”
George, who’s been turning heads on the BBC One show with his sharp footwork and impressive flair, has been dubbed this year’s dark horse by viewers. And with performances like last week’s explosive couple’s choice to Soda Pop from Netflix’s 2025 smash K-Pop Demon Hunters, it’s easy to see why. Alexis, who joined the Strictly pros this year, says the pair fully immerse themselves in the storytelling side of each routine.

She said: “On show days specifically when the whole atmosphere is in my play, we really lock into the character and channel. During rehearsals we’re both kind of delirious – he’s always making me giggle.”
For this week’s routine, Alexis says they’re going full-on royal rumble: “Each dance I try to establish a character so there can be a clear visualisation – like a story.
“For this week the story is very much a king and queen battle for the throne kind of vibe. Establishing that with the dance, as well as giving little cues, helps tell the story. Our job as dancers is to make the music come to life.”
And it’s not just about the dancing — it’s the costumes, too. George admits some of the outfits have been colourful, to say the least: “It’s like someone’s just thrown a packet of Crayola crayons everywhere.
“It helps become the character. Last week I know I looked silly but that’s what the dance was – silly.
“It helps elevate that and lean into it more. I wouldn’t wear any of them out but I’m happy in them during the dances.”
Off-camera, Alexis says the duo keep things sharp by filming their rehearsals and reviewing the footage together:
“It’s fun to watch.”
While George continues to climb the Strictly leaderboard, he’s also urging fans to back him in a completely different kind of contest. He recently revealed he’s somehow been nominated for Creator of the Year — and he’s not entirely sure how that happened.
In a cheeky TikTok plea, he told followers: “God knows how. You’re questioning it, I’m questioning it… but what would be funny, is if you voted for me for the next 13 days and I won it. Imagine that?”

He added: “So vote for me, I’m asking you this once, and then every Saturday for Strictly, if you could do that as well…”
He even slapped the words “I need your help (more than normal)” across the video.
