Debra has traded in the wrestling ring for the courtroom. The former WWE Women’s Champion recently opened up about her life after wrestling while speaking at Monopoly Events’ For The Love of Wrestling, revealing that she’s now working in criminal justice.
“Well, after I left wrestling, I ended up going to the University of Alabama, and I received a Bachelor [degree], and then I received a Master of Science in criminal justice. From the University of Alabama, and now I currently work for the District Attorney’s Office in New Orleans, Louisiana,” Debra shared. “So it’s been an interesting journey from wrestling to what I do now.”
While she’s found success outside the industry, Debra hasn’t ruled out a return to wrestling. When asked who she’d want to work with if she ever came back, she had one name in mind—Jeff Jarrett.
“I would say Jeff Jarrett. Well, you know, we worked together in WCW and then also in the WWF/WWE. But, I don’t know. I just know his movements, and we just worked, I thought, really well together.”
Debra’s journey from WWE to the courtroom is something few could have predicted, but she’s proving that there’s life after wrestling. From managing top stars in WCW and WWE to working for the District Attorney’s Office in New Orleans, she’s carved out an entirely new path for herself. But with wrestling always pulling people back in, who’s to say she won’t make a surprise return? If Jeff Jarrett is still in the mix, maybe there’s one last chapter left in her wrestling story.
