Gemma Cairney has given birth to her second baby
BBC star Gemma Cairney has given birth to her second baby. The presenter, 41, has been in a relationship with Cameron McAllister and the pair already have a 23-month-old together.
But on Sunday night, Gemma, who is best known for her work on Radio 1 and has also hosted the Dream Space podcast since 2023, took to social media to announce that another little one had arrived.
She wrote on Instagram: “Had another baby this week with the most beautiful goober of a man that I ever was to meet after travelling the world to find him. LOVE YOU @cameronmac815 & this miracle family. *Posted from a sofa of in the haze of restful ecstasy and a multitude of painkillers*”

Gemma announced the news in a social media post
The couple were instantly congratulated in the comments section by their friends, with former Strictly Come Dancing star Angela Scanlon writing: “Congratulations you beauties xx”
One follower said: “Massive congrats guys! So happy for your gorgeous wee fam,” whilst another wrote: “Hooray! Congratulations to you both! Xxxxx”
Earlier this year, Gemma quietly announced her pregnancy with a photo displaying her growing baby bump that she posted onto Instagram. She wrote alongside it: “together we sunbathe ‘n dream”
The announcement of the birth was similar to the one that came in August 2024 when Gemma gave birth for the first time. At the time, she posted a photo of Cameron with their newborn on Instagram, along with the caption: “TWO WEEKS of the best madness, blessings, bliss, breathes, prayers, tears & momentous delirium. I can’t offer enough thanks to our friends/kin, midwives, soothsayers, staunch support!”
Gemma, who is also known for hosting the BBC’s TV coverage of Glastonbury Festival, added on social media: “Never ever felt love like this. We are a fresh fam of 3, yipeeeeeeeee.”
The radio star met her husband, who is the founder of a specialist coffee subscription service, whilst on holiday in Malawi almost a decade ago.
She began her career on Channel 4’s radio service in in 2007, and then got her break in TV when she was chosen as co-presenter for Big Brother’s Big Ears for Big Brother 2008 alongside Iain Lee.
Over the years, Gemma has appeared on celebrity editions of shows like The Weakest Link and Richard Osman’s House of Games, but also fronted hard-hitting documentaries like Riots: The Aftershock and Dying For Clear Skin.
