Patrick Mahomes turns into a magician as the Kansas City Chiefs begin...

Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs have some time to rest before they begin their journey which main goal is to write history as they want to become the first NFL team to win three Super Bowls in a row.

The first stage of that goal was well accomplished: the Chiefs became just the eighth team in league history to win at least 15 regular-season games with its victory over the Pittsburgh Steelers on Christmas Day.

The Chiefs joined the 2007 New England Patriots, the 015 Carolina Panthers, the 2011 Green Bay Packers, the 2004 Pittsburgh Steelers, the 1998 Minnesota Vikings, the 1985 Chicago Bears and the 1984 San Francisco 49ers in doing so. In the time since the Chiefs’ victory over Pittsburgh, the Detroit Lions also joined that group.

Mahomes and the Chiefs are ready to write history

Superstar quarterback Patrick Mahomes, iconic tight end Travis Kelce, legendary head coach Andy Reid and the Kansas City Chiefs are ready to write NFL history as they await rival in the Divisional Round, as they got the No.1 seed in the AFC and secured home-field advantage throughout the playoffs.

In preparation for the big game, the Chiefs posted a motivational video titled “Three acts”. The piece starts with a voice off while we see Arrowhead Stadium and the thousands of Kansas City fans who are eager to see their team make a deep run in the playoffs.

“It’s been said that magic happens in three parts. In the first, you show something familiar. The second, you realize it might not be what is seems, something more. So now you’re looking for the trick, the sleight of hand, the ruse, the while you’re busy searching. The third part has already begun. This one leaves you in awe. It makes you believe, if only for a second, that familiar thing might not be familiar at all.” says the narrator.

At the end of the video, we can see the Chiefs‘ previous Super Bowl celebrations and the message: “Let’s Make Magic.”

Chiefs have a winning record against playoff teams

The Chiefs went 7-2 against eventual playoff teams in 2024, with one of those defeats – the Week 18 loss to Denver – taking place without the majority of the Chiefs’ starters in the game. Regardless, that 7-2 mark matched Baltimore for the best record vs. eventual playoff teams of any squad in the NFL.

The Chiefs and Ravens tied the NFL record for wins vs. eventual postseason teams in 2024. Only the 1998 New York Jets (7 wins) and the 1997 Green Bay Packers (7 wins) had hit that mark previously.

Additionally, Kansas City played the entire AFC playoff field during the regular season and defeated all but one of them.

The Baltimore Ravens have announced that Zay Flowers will not be with them when they play the Pittsburgh Steelers in the Wild Card round of the NFL playoffs this Saturday.

The wide receiver is set to miss his first NFL game because of an injury after hurting his knee in Baltimore’s division-clinching victory over the Cleveland Browns last week.

“Zay Flowers is not going to be able to make it to the game this week,” Ravens head coach Harbaugh said on Thursday, per NFL.com. “So he’ll get started again next week and we’ll move forward with the guys we have and we’re excited about the guys we have, which is everybody else.

The second-year star made 74 receptions for 1,059 yards and four touchdowns during the season.

Rashod Bateman will step in as the main wide receiver option for Baltimore this weekend. Bateman had a career year in which he made 45 catches for 756 yards and nine scores. Only tight end Mark Andrews had more TDs this term.
