The ITV broadcaster has admitted that she was heartbroken when she lost her BBC Radio role as she addressed the recent allegations.

Kaye Adams has finally broken her silence after losing her job at BBC Radio Scotland. The 63-year-old broadcaster was taken off air from her radio show back in October and won’t be returning to the airwaves following claims of misconduct. Adams has denied any wrongdoing, arguing her “assertiveness” could have been mistaken for bullying. On Thursday, the Loose Women star took to social media to share her side of the story for the first time.
Addressing her followers, she began: “I’m aware of malicious stories circulating about the reasons for my departure from BBC Scotland. I’ve tried to keep a dignified silence, but these attacks on my character are now so persistent that they can no longer go unchallenged.
“I categorically deny using a misogynistic slur 14 years ago, and I’m horrified at its invention more than a decade later. It is absolutely not a word I would have used. As for ‘berating an intern’, this is simply untrue. Regarding the allegation that I threw a pencil while alone in an empty studio, words fail me.”
“I am heart-broken that 15 years of hard work and dedication to BBC Scotland is being reduced to this. There’s really nothing more I can say apart from offering my heartfelt thanks to friends and colleagues – junior and senior – across the corporation who have sent their good wishes and support.”
Kaye had been fronting the three-hour radio phone-in programme on BBC Radio Scotland since 2010. As well as losing her job on the show, Kaye’s sponsor for her podcast has pulled out. They issued a statement, which read: “Following recent developments, we have taken the decision to stop advertising on this particular podcast.”
Alex Hyde-Smith, the charity’s chief marketing officer, told The Times about The Alzheimer’s Society’s decision to cease its sponsorship of the How To Be 60 with Kaye Adams podcast. He said: “The society advertises on a range of podcasts to help us reach different audiences with information about dementia.

“Following recent developments, we have taken the decision to stop advertising on this particular podcast.” Speaking about what life has been like since her exit from BBC Radio, Kaye previously told her podcast listeners: “I mean, it’s been a brutal five months no doubt about it.

“I’m torn in that I don’t want anyone to think… I mean, who cares about my life anyway? I mean, it’s not that I’m expecting people to. But I mean, obviously, some people will be aware of what’s been going on in terms of me leaving the radio and stuff. And I’m torn between not wanting to appear to ignore things, but I just don’t see the point in saying much at this time.
“And this is a time to process things, try and get life back on track, try and get my eating back on track, my sleeping back on track, you know, and just my life back on track. For the sake of Ian and the kids, so that I’m going to just stick to that at the moment. And just, you know, gather myself.”
