Scottish influencer Jamie Genevieve shares ‘magical’ name for baby born on eclipse day
Scottish influencer Jamie Genevieve just shared some exciting news with her 1.3 million Instagram followers.
The makeup mogul, 33, recently announced the birth of her second baby, who arrived on the day of the solar eclipse. And the once-in-a-lifetime celestial event seems to have inspired the parents’ choice of baby name.
Sharing a picture of the bundle of joy she shares with husband Jack McCann, Jamie said: “Born under the eclipse, our girl Leonora.”
Leonora, often associated with light and brightness, feels especially fitting for a baby born during a solar eclipse, when the sun briefly disappears and then returns.
Fans were delighted by the announcement and took to the comments section to share their thoughts on the “magical” moniker. One said: “Aww, amazing news! Congratulations!! I love the name, so unusual. And under an eclipse! Destined for great things.”
Another said: “Omg, what a beautiful name. Congratulations to you all. Welcome to the world, Leonora.” And a third added: “Gorgeous name for another gorgeous girlie! Congratulations to you both!”
Jamie Genevieve (born Jamie Grant) is a Scottish makeup artist, influencer and beauty brand founder. She grew up in the small village of Tillicoultry in Clackmannanshire, but now lives in Glasgow with her family.
Her interest in beauty was piqued during her childhood, when she’d often watch her mum apply lipstick in the car. She later worked at makeup counters in Glasgow, where she learned how to work with different faces and skin types.
However, Jamie’s career really took off when she began posting videos of her makeup looks online.
She has since built up a massive community of beauty fans, who were delighted when the beauty guru launched VIEVE, which is a vegan and cruelty-free makeup line.
Her transition from makeup artist to CEO has been incredibly lucrative. In 2025, she was named in The Sunday Times inaugural Beauty Rich List. Her brand’s rapid growth and cult following have propelled her estimated personal net worth to approximately £15 million.
Jamie’s followers also enjoy hearing about the influencer’s life updates. She has shared details of her marriage to Jack, as well as the joy of their first child, Romy, who was born on May 9, 2023.
