Coronation Street has set up a huge new storyline for Abi Webster following some cruel remarks from her husband Kevin.
Recent rumours suggested that an affair might be on the cards between Abi and newcomer Carl Webster, who is Kevin and Debbie’s younger brother.
Tonight’s episode seemed to set the affair story up after Kevin, who is battling cancer, continued to push Abi away with his bad behaviour.
With relations between Jack Webster and Kevin still strained, an angry Kevin grounded Jack, who called his dad “a pathetic old man”.

In the Rovers, a drunk and angry Kevin snapped at Tyrone Dobbs, who called Kevin “a nasty, selfish, self-pitying little prat.” Kevin punched him in the face and was barred from the pub.
When a furious Abi heard about Kevin’s fight, she told him: “Cancer or no cancer, you were out of order.”
Telling Kevin that she also knows what it is like to live with an illness, Abi was stunned when Kevin told her that her addiction was self-inflicted.
“Addiction. It’s self-inflicted, it’s different,” Kevin said and Abi stormed out of the house, leaving her pie and chips on the table.

At the garage, Abi and Tyrone discussed Kevin’s behaviour, saying it felt like Kevin wanted them to hate him. “I don’t know what to do. I’m not sure how much more I’ve got to give,” said Abi.
At No.13, Tyrone called in, urging Kevin to stop bottling up his fears, talk to Abi and start appreciating his family and friends.
Following his talk with Tyrone, Abi came home where she found Kevin in tears, and she pulled him in for a hug.
Could the current strain on Abi and Kevin’s relationship pave the way for Abi to have an affair with Carl once he arrives on the cobbles this week?
Despite making up during tonight’s episode, they still seem to be on rocky ground. Is their relationship being tested and could this end up being the reason Abi’s head is turned?
