April Windsor had a stillbirth on Emmerdale in tragic scenes yesterday, with fans having no idea she was pregnant – and that was the reason she chose to run away

April Windsor tragically had a stillbirth on Emmerdale last night – as fans continue to wonder who the father of her baby is.
In tragic scenes, April had a stillbirth when her baby arrived early. As she cradled the little one behind the door of a gym bathroom, the women outside were applying their make-up and chatting, unaware what was happening in the cubicle.
Speculation has continued to grow about who the father of April’s baby might be. Some fans have suggested it could be Samson Dingle or his friend Josh, whilst others believe it could be a one night stand with someone she met whilst out partying.
However, many people have been convinced it could be Anthony. Whilst Anthony is now dead – having been killed by Ruby – we learned before he died that he had abused his daughter when she was a teenager, leading to the birth of Steph.

The two stories were further linked in recent scenes, when Marlon Dingle’s fears were heightened when he overheard the villagers talking about how dangerous Anthony was to children. Marlon was instantly worried that April might have been with Anthony, or something might have happened to her – only fuelling speculation he was to blame.
As her pregnancy was revealed, one person wrote: “Did Anthony strike one last time before he popped his clogs or was April gone before Anthony arrived?? #emmerdale,” whilst a second suggested: “April had an altercation with Anthony hence his hand injury after Xmas. There must be a reason why Anthony was brought into the story?”
“#Emmerdale hope it isn’t Anthony’s!!” a third wrote, whilst a fourth added: “Was it Anthony? #emmerdale.”
However, fans of the ITV soap can rule out Anthony as a likely person to be involved with April. When the baby was born, it appeared to be quite long into the pregnancy – and with Anthony arriving in Emmerdale in November, that would mean the baby was 16 weeks when April had a stillbirth. Whilst it is not strictly impossible, it is more likely that, if it is a villager who got April pregnant, it could be Samson or Josh, as they both disappeared from our screens back in August 2024.
