Reese admits money is important when she’s choosing her next partner

Chicago Sky forward Angel Reese recently made headlines with her candid response to a thought-provoking question posed by former NFL MVP Cam Newton when she was about how much her partner needs to earn.
The 22-year-old earns a base WNBA salary of around $75,000 but makes the vast majority of her wealth through endorsement deals with the likes of Reese‘s, McDonald’s and Reebok and seemed aware this isn’t an easy cash stream to match.
Instead, she explained that it would depend on whether the man could meet her standards and align with her expectations.
“It depends,” Reese answered on her Unapologetically Angel podcast. “I have a standard of what I live up to and how I live my life.
“And as long as you can meet up to that and meet up to my expectations, then yeah.
As soon as Reese responded, the crowd reacted with a mix of cheers and murmurs, creating a lively atmosphere. The buzz grew louder, sparking various discussions among the audience.
However, she emphasized the importance of honesty in financial matters, making it clear that she does not want a partner who tries to impress her by spending beyond their means.
“Don’t be going out of your way and trying to buy me stuff you can’t afford. Like I said, know what you’re getting yourself into,” the WNBA star clarified.
Cam Newton reveals he never dated someone earning more than him
The conversation took an interesting turn when Reese flipped the question on Newton, asking if he would be open to dating a woman who outearns him. Newton responded that while he could, he chose not to.
Newton elaborated on traditional gender roles, stating that most women prefer men who earn more and that men generally accept dating women who earn less.

This was something Reese acknowledged, admitting it can be difficult to find a man her age who earns more than she does. By saying, “It’s tough to be a female in that perspective because a lot of options are slim.”
On top of that, it would’ve been hard to match the ex-Carolina Panthers quarterback’s salary anyway. At his peak, he was making around $10,000,000 per year. For reference, that’s over a decade of base WNBA salary for Reese to catch up to one year of his earnings.
