Strictly chaos as another star pulls out of BBC show due to injury

Another Strictly favourite forced to miss Blackpool week after heartbreaking announcement
Strictly Come Dancing has been thrown into further disarray as fan-favourite performer La Voix has confirmed she will not be taking part in the hugely anticipated Blackpool Week, after suffering an injury that has left her unable to perform.
Her withdrawal marks yet another blow for the BBC competition, which has already seen multiple celebrities exit in recent weeks due to illness and medical complications.
The BBC issued an official statement confirming the news, saying:
“Due to injury, La Voix has been advised by doctors to rest and, as a result, will not dance in this weekend’s Blackpool specials. In line with the rules of Strictly Come Dancing, La Voix and Aljaz will receive a bye through to next week when it is hoped they will be able to dance again.”

La Voix: “My heart truly breaks”
Shortly after the announcement, La Voix released her own emotional statement, expressing her devastation at missing what many contestants call the “highlight of the entire Strictly journey.”
She said:
“It is with immense sadness that I have to withdraw from this weekend’s Strictly Come Dancing shows in Blackpool. Due to an injury, I’ve been advised that I’m unable to perform, and my heart truly breaks knowing I won’t be dancing in such an iconic venue.”
The performer went on to celebrate her partnership with professional dancer Aljaž Škorjanec, with whom she has formed a strong bond:
“Aljaž and I have worked incredibly hard and we were so excited to share our routine with everyone. I am devastated not to be joining the rest of the cast on that famous dancefloor, but my focus now is on recovery. I’ll be cheering on all the amazing couples this weekend.”
Those close to the show say La Voix has been pushing through discomfort for several days, but the injury worsened this week, leaving doctors no choice but to insist on rest.
A growing crisis for Strictly 2024
Her exit adds to a mounting list of absences that have rocked the BBC series this year.
Just days ago, Neighbours star Stefan Dennis was forced to quit after suffering an injury during rehearsals, leaving his professional partner Dianne Buswell unable to continue.
Earlier in the season, Game of Thrones actor Kristian Nairn pulled out shortly after being announced in the line-up due to medical issues.
Meanwhile, Dani Dyer was also forced to withdraw after sustaining a painful injury that made training impossible.
Producers are said to be “deeply frustrated” behind the scenes, with one insider claiming the show has had “the worst run of luck in years.”
Fans heartbroken: “Blackpool won’t be the same without her”
The announcement sent shockwaves through the Strictly fandom, with fans flooding social media to share their disappointment and send messages of support.
One devastated viewer wrote on X:
“Omg La Voix isn’t in Blackpool! I was so excited to see her shine on that dancefloor.”
Another added:
“La Voix missing Blackpool because of injury is so unfortunate. She and Aljaž had so much potential this week.”
A third fan said:
“Not La Voix! She’s been one of the most entertaining celebs. Blackpool won’t be the same without her glamour and humour.”
Others expressed hope that she would return next week, with messages such as:
“Rest up Queen! Strictly needs you back ASAP.”
What happens next?
La Voix and Aljaž will receive a bye into the following week, though it remains unclear whether she will fully recover in time to perform. Doctors will reassess her condition in the coming days.
For now, the Strictly cast prepares to take on the legendary Blackpool Tower Ballroom—but with one less star lighting up the floor, the atmosphere will undoubtedly feel different.
