Women’s basketball continues to grow in popularity, with rising stars making waves both on and off the court. Among them, Angel Reese has been one of the most talked-about players, known for her dominant defensive skills and charismatic presence. From her days in college to her transition into the professional scene, Reese has consistently proven herself as a force to be reckoned with.

This season, she has showcased her defensive prowess in the Unrivaled league, earning the prestigious title of Defensive Player of the Year. Despite facing challenges, including a recent hand/wrist injury, Reese remains a key figure in the sport, drawing attention not just for her on-court performance but also for her growing influence in the basketball community.

The Unrivaled league has provided a platform for talented players to compete at a high level, and Reese’s team, Rose BC, has emerged as a dominant force. Their journey to the championship was filled with intense matchups and unforgettable moments, culminating in a well-deserved victory.

Angel Reese took center stage this week after her team, Rose BC, won the Unrivaled league championship. The celebrated victory netted all the players, including Reese, a lucrative $50,000 bonus.

Although Reese didn’t participate in the playoffs due to a hand/wrist injury, her status as the Unrivaled Defensive Player of the Year makes her well deserving of the reward.

The Sky rookie took to her social media to share her excitement and tweeted- “50K NEED DATTTTT.”

However, like much of her on-court playmaking, Reese’s tweet got the attention of many, including Indiana Fever guard Sydney Colson. The Fever star jokingly retweeted Reese and assured her she could help if the Sky star needed any laying hand to spare that 50k bonus.

However, Reese quickly turned the tables with a clever rebuttal, reminding Colson that as a rookie, her contract was barely more than the bonus money she won. Specifically, she emphasized that the $50,000 was more than half of her entire salary, making it clear that she had to be prudent with her newfound wealth.

After an exciting first season of the Unrivaled League, Rose BC made history by winning the inaugural championship. It was a nail-biter, with Rose BC battling through adversity to secure a 62-54 victory over Vinyl BC.

The victory came in a hard way as their key player, Reese, was missing from the roster due to a hand injury. Brittney Sykes came up big in the title game, scoring 21 points and showing incredible leadership.

Despite not being able to play, Reese smiled as she cheered on her teammates from afar, celebrating their well-deserved victory.

Reese couldn’t contain her excitement and took to social media to share her thoughts and dropped a cheeky tweet.

“WHAT YALL GON SAY NOW??” Reese wrote.

However, the Chicago Sky quickly chimed in with an encouraging message of their own.

“Year 2 loading…” the team’s official handle wrote.

As Reese looks ahead to the WNBA season kicking off in May, fans can’t wait to see how she’ll bring the confidence. And afterall winning the 3×3 league would be a much needed boost for the young rookie.
