TERENCE CRAWFORD has been stripped of his WBA title just two weeks after beating Canelo Alvarez for the super middleweight crown.

However, because he informed the WBA that he does not intend to make a return to his original weight class, the 37-year-old has been stripped of his super welterweight title.
Interim title holder Abass Baraou was therefore promoted to full world champion.
The news was confirmed by Baraou’s promoter, Wasserman Boxing, on Sunday.
A statement on social media read: “Abass Baraou is full world champion.
“Seat at the top table confirmed for AB, who would you like to see him fight next?”
The German boxer earned the interim title with a win over Yoenis Tellez last month.
He managed a last-gasp knockdown with 10 seconds left on the clock on his way to a unanimous decision victory.
Baraou could now make his first defence against former champion Jermell Charlo.

The 35-year-old is currently the WBA’s ‘champion in recess’ and will therefore be made a mandatory challenger.
However, Charlo is currently in talks to face Errol Spence Jr early next year.
