Cain Dingle will support Caleb Miligan on Emmerdale as he vows to discover the truth following the devastating stabbing.
Caleb has unknowingly been at the centre of a conspiracy in recent weeks, with Dr Crowley and Joe Tate targeting him with the aim of stealing his kidney, which would be transplanted into Joe.
As the pair enacted their plan earlier this week, there was a hiccup as accomplice Shaun stabbed Caleb instead of knocking him unconscious, leaving him in a critical condition before a planned operation.
Last night’s episode detailed that Caleb was recovering in hospital, though he was informed that his kidney had been removed under the pretence that it was damaged. Joe and Crowley, meanwhile, were left anxious following the arrest of Shaun.
Half-brothers Caleb and Cain have had a fraught relationship in recent months, but next week’s scenes will see the pair vow to do right by each other as they both attempt to get to the bottom of Caleb’s stabbing.

After Ruby spends the night in hospital with Caleb, the pair are told by the police that they are yet to charge Shaun for the stabbing due to a lack of evidence, though Caleb is steadfast in his resolve to have his attacker thrown behind bars.
Cain agrees with his half-brother and conducts an investigation of his own, whilst Ross Barton harbours his own suspicions following his search for Joe earlier in the week, which saw him and Charity embark on a wild goose chase around the Dales.
After returning home, Caleb confides in Cain that he will never take his family for granted again, with Cain agreeing to have his back as long as the favour is returned. As the duo grow closer over drinks, is this the start of a strong family bond?
Emmerdale airs on weeknights at 7.30pm on ITV1, and streams on ITVX.
