BOMBSHELL: Prince William’s latest move amid Meghan and Harry’s UK return could be catastrophic
Prince William is reportedly pressing King Charles to take further action against Prince Harry and Meghan Markle following their return to the UK, with an unnamed royal source claiming the Prince of Wales wants the couple’s Sussex titles removed.
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex moved back to Britain in late August after six years in California, but an official letter issued on behalf of the King made clear that they would remain non-working royals.
According to the report, William viewed that clarification as an important development and is now allegedly hoping Charles will go further.
An unnamed source claimed William believes his father is beginning to see the situation differently.
“He’s taking it as a big win, and it’s given him hope that his father might finally be seeing this more clearly,” the insider said.
The claim has not been publicly confirmed by Kensington Palace or Buckingham Palace.
Palace Letter Clarifies Harry and Meghan’s Status
The correspondence, sent by the Lord Chamberlain on behalf of King Charles, was reportedly intended to remove any uncertainty surrounding Harry and Meghan’s position following their move back to Britain.
It stated that the couple would not carry out official duties representing the sovereign.
Their position was described as being “akin to private citizens with commercial and charitable interests”.
The letter also reiterated that Harry and Meghan would not use the styles “His Royal Highness” and “Her Royal Highness”.
Their charitable activities would remain separate from the monarchy and be undertaken privately.
According to the report, William played an important role in pushing for the clarification.
However, that claim is based on unnamed sources rather than an official statement from the Prince of Wales.
William Reportedly Wants Titles Removed
The report goes further, claiming William now wants Charles to remove Harry and Meghan’s Duke and Duchess of Sussex titles.
An insider told The News International: “William is not going to stop pushing until the King agrees to take away their titles.”
The source also claimed the issue has caused tension between William and his father.
“He hates that he has to constantly raise the issue with his father; it’s caused a lot of strife between them,” the insider alleged.
The source suggested William believes pursuing the matter is necessary to protect both the monarchy and Charles.
“But if it means protecting the monarchy and protecting his father from making a colossal mistake, it’s worth it to William,” they added.
There has been no public confirmation from William that he is campaigning for the Sussex titles to be removed.
Harry and Meghan Continue as Private Citizens
Harry and Meghan returned to Britain with their children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet, and are reportedly living at a non-royal property.
Their move has reignited questions about how they will fit into royal life while remaining outside the institution as working members.
According to the letter issued on the King’s behalf, their status has not changed despite their geographical return.
They remain private citizens rather than representatives of the monarch.
The couple will also continue to pursue their own commercial and charitable projects independently.

The report also claims William and Harry remain estranged despite now living much closer to one another.

The King’s correspondence reportedly made clear that decisions about protection remain the responsibility of the relevant police authorities and the Royal and VIP Executive Committee, known as Ravec.
Harry has previously challenged decisions surrounding his security arrangements in the UK.
The latest letter does not suggest that the couple’s return to Britain automatically restores any previous level of publicly funded protection.
