Jake Paul weight reveal as influencer ‘bulks up’ for Mike Tyson fight
Paul has considerably bulked up whilst training to fight ‘Iron Mike’ this summer as he aims to be a similar weight to the boxing legend when they share the ring
Jake Paul has bulked up to a massive 230lb whilst preparing to fight boxing legend Mike Tyson.
Social media boxer Paul takes on ‘Iron Mike’ at the 80,000 seat AT&T Stadium in Texas on July 20. The controversial fight will air live on Netflix and there will be over a 30-year age gap between Paul and Tyson on fight night. It’s understood both men want the fight to be sanctioned as a professional bout despite Tyson confessing it will likely be an exhibition contest.
Paul weighed in at just under 200lb for his last two fights, both of which he won by KO, but has now packed on a considerable amount of size according to his trainer Shane Mosley. The boxing legend claims Paul is just as fast at his new weight as he was whilst fighting 50lb lighter.

“I just saw Jake yesterday, he’s 230 pounds,” Mosley said on his YouTube channel. “He’s big, really big. He said that he feels as fast as was at 185lbs and he’s still young. He looked like he was comfortable in the weight, so I know that Mike Tyson has to fight in close. He likes to bob and weave and get close.”
Tyson’s last professional fight took place almost two decades ago when he retired on his stool after five rounds against journeyman Kevin McBridge. The 57-year-old went eight rounds against Roy Jones Jr in an unscored exhibition fight four years ago and Jones has warned Paul what she shouldn’t do against ‘Iron Mike’.

“Jake is not going to fight in close and Jake can’t stay away from him because Mike is going to close the gap real quick. I thought I could stay away from him and I couldn’t stay away from him, I know that I’m better at staying away from people than Jake is. That’s why Jake put the weight on,” he said.
“He knows he isn’t going to be able to stay away from him, he is hoping that a bit of muscle will push him backwards and keep him off him. [Mike] is getting big enough to try and tie him up when he gets close and push him back right away. Jake doesn’t fight as well as going backwards as he does coming forward.”
