This Morning star Giles Brandreth has opened up about Meghan Markle’s new Netflix show, revealing how the Royal Family reacted to the upcoming lifestyle series.
Speaking to hosts Josie Gibson and Alison Hammond on This Morning today, Giles gave his thoughts on With Love, Meghan – which arrives on Netflix next week. When asked whether the royals were “worried” about the show, Giles said: “I don’t think they’re even noticing it.
“They may now because if they’re sensible, they’ll be watching This Morning, but I think they were not even vaguely aware of it. It will be of concern to anyone.”
Giles Brandreth gave his thoughts on Meghan Markle’s upcoming Netflix show
Alison added: “I’ve noticed it and I’m going to be all over it. I love stuff like that. It’s kind of reality TV but with royalty,” with Giles replying: “It’s the kind of programme we enjoy.”
Earlier in the show, Giles gave his take on the upcoming Netflix show, saying: “You’re not going to be seeing royals behind the scenes. You’re going to be seeing a very glossy, delightful lifestyle programme made by Americans starring Meghan, who is already an American television star.”
With Love, Meghan follows the Duchess of Sussex as she invites her celebrity friends over for candid conversations and lifestyle tutorials. The likes of actress Mindy Kaling, soap star Abigail Spencer, chef Roy Choi and Prince Harry himself are among those making cameos.
Meghan Markle is hosting a new Netflix lifestyle show
Netflix recently released a new teaser for the series, in which Meghan Markle is seen dancing barefoot. The clip also features a quick glimpse of Prince Harry and the couple’s late dog Guy, who died earlier this year. Accompanying the clip on Instagram, Meghan wrote: “Six more days until our show launches on @netflix! Celebrating the crew and everyone who helped make this happen! The countdown begins.”
The release for the Netflix series was initially set to be released earlier this year but was delayed following the devastating LA wildfires. Issuing a statement on Instagram on January 12, Meghan wrote: “’I’m thankful to my partners at Netflix for supporting me in delaying the launch, as we focus on the needs of those impacted by the wildfires in my home state of California.”
With Love, Meghan is also reportedly going to include tributes to California and those who have suffered as a result of the wildfires.
