Emmerdale: Cain tells Moira he has cancer

There’s heartbreaking scenes ahead on Emmerdale, as Cain Dingle finally tells his wife Moira Dingle about his worrying cancer diagnosis.

With Moira in prison, for a double murder she did not commit, Cain has kept his health news from her. He also hasn’t told his family, except for his granddaughter Sarah Sugden.

Other characters keeping his secret are Liam Cavanagh and Graham Foster, but next week everyone finds out. Cain is urged to tell their young sons and his whole family what is going on by Moira herself, after she finds out the news.

A new preview shows the moment Cain decides to tell her the truth, as he explains that he has cancer. He tells her how he lied about how bad things were, with his illness being much worse than they thought.

Moira is in complete disbelief as she hears Cain tell her about his illness, having been led to believe he would be fine. As he drops the news and Moira takes it all in, the clip ends.

Moira will support Cain as best she can, while struggling to come to terms with his news. Knowing she can’t be with him, she urges him to reveal all to their sons and the family, and this leads to Rhona Goskirk, the wife of Cain’s cousin Marlon Dingle, also learning the news.

But she’s in for a shock when her ex Graham admits he new about it before the family did. He makes the point that he helped keep the secret as Cain wanted, but he also reveals it’s what motivated him to play both sides in Cain’s battle with Joe Tate.

Fans know that while Graham has pledged loyalty to Joe, he helped Cain out after he stole Joe’s car recently, covering for him. He’s also helped on the farm and offered guidance, which Joe has not been impressed with.

Cain appreciated the support eventually, while Rhona questions why Graham would have helped him given the feud between both families. He says he did it out of respect, and Rhona thanks him, while guessing no one else would be grateful.
