Prince Harry and Meghan Markle made a secret trip up to Scotland on their UK visit just weeks ago, it has been revealed. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex reportedly headed to a remote Scottish island owned by Harry’s friend, and hedge fund tycoon, Ian Wace.

It is believed the family of four headed there after staying with Harry’s uncle, Charles, Earl Spencer, at Althorp House. It is not known how long Harry and his wife, Meghan Markle, along with their children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet, stayed in Scotland on the island of Tanera Mor. However, Meghan did hint at the Scottish trip with a picture of the Scottish Highlands on her Instagram account. The family’s spokesperson has refused to comment.

It is believed that Harry has visited the island before, which his friend Wace brought in 2017.

The island was fairly derelict at the time, with Wace having spent £100million restoring it by improving the properties and roads.

He has also reportedly hosted many guests on the island from the Taigh Mor Foundation, which the Daily Mail reports is a charity that works to improve the wellbeing of people serving in the armed forces or emergency services.

Wace is believed to be good friends with Harry, and was even spotted with The Duke and Duchess of Sussex in 2019 at the Royal Albert Hall.

His ex-wife, Saffron Aldridge, with whom he remains friends, is believed to have got on well with Meghan Markle.

It is believed that the two women formed a friendship that probably still continues to this day.

It is unclear where Harry and Meghan, along with their children, could have stayed on the island, and whether they were hosted by Wace himself.

It is believed that the visit to Scotland would have been an opportunity for Harry to show his children another part of the UK on their visit earlier this month, which marked their first time visiting the UK since 2022.

As the island is fairly remote, it would have also given the family the opportunity to enjoy private family time together before flying back to their home in California, America.
