Strictly Come Dancing fans all had the same complaint as Claudia Winkleman halted the show to make an announcement. During the results show, La Voix and Aljaz Skorjanec, Amber Davies and Nikita Kuzmin, Lewis Cope and Katya Jones and Alex Kingston and Johannes Rabede were all confirmed as safe. They then joined Claudia upstairs as she spoke to Aljaz and La Voix about their excitment to make it to Blackpool, with it being the sixth time Aljaz has been there.
Making the announcement about their dance and song choice for Blackpool, Aljaz said: “I’m very excited, probably more than ever, because I know how much Blackpool means to you, so to go on that dance floor and perform… a Samba,” as La Voix gasped: “What a reveal!” as Aljaz said it would be to Love is in the Air by John Paul Young.
Nikita then announced that he and Amber would be doing the Quickstep to Reach to the Stars by S Club 7, as he asked Claudia to dance to the song with him.

However, despite the excitement backstage, fans were left baffled by some of the song choices. One fan said: “The song choices on Strictly are always… well, questionable.”
Another agreed: “We’ve had two song reveals so far for blackpool dances and why are they so bad for blackpool and kinda in general? Like I’m sorry, reached by S Club for Amber and Nikita? Are we going to Haven caravan park instead of the Blackpool ballroom?”
A third chimed in: “The dances and song choices are very rogue this year”
A fourth said: “The song choices accompanying the dances this year have been hit and miss. “Bet you look good on the dancefloor” isn’t one I’d pair with a Charleston. Bizarre.
However one fan said: “OH MY GOD AMBER AND NIKITA DANCING TO S CLUB REACH THIS IS FOR ME! CALL BACK TO RACHEL STEVENS OMG.”
Express columnist Debbie McGee also shared her disappointment for the song choices in her latest column, saying she thought some of the celebrities struggle to score high because of the music arrangement.
