Mike Tyson’s best friend has evidence that “Iron Fist” intentionally lost to Jake Paul
Tyson’s close friend believes ‘Iron Fist’ fought Jake Paul in a scripted way.
The fight between boxing legend Mike Tyson and YouTube star Jake Paul, which was streamed live on Netflix in November, attracted global attention. Jake won by unanimous decision after dominating the final rounds. However, former NFL star Adam Jones, Tyson’s close friend, has sparked controversy by claiming the fight was rigged.
Adam told Mirror US: “I really think it was rigged. Look at the first round, Mike landed some really big shots, but it was like he was telling Jake to slow down. I love Tyson and I want to see the real thing from him.”
Jones also noted that Tyson, at 58, appeared to have lost his footing. “He didn’t seem to be on his feet,” Jones said.
Response from the organizers
In response to widespread suspicions, the event organizer Most Valuable Promotions (MVP) issued a statement completely denying the allegations.
MVP asserted: “Fixing a professional boxing match is a federal crime in the United States. The fight between Paul and Tyson was licensed by the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation (TDLR) and both fighters competed with the goal of winning.”
The statement went on to emphasize that there was no clause, whether in a contract or any other agreement, that limited the two fighters’ ability to compete.
“Each fighter used his or her full skill set to win. Any arrangement to the contrary would be a violation of TDLR regulations,” MVP asserted.
The organizers also strongly criticized the rumors: “Speculation and jokes are common in sports, but to imply that two fighters did not fight at their best is not only naive but also an insult to the effort they put in.”
This fight is a special milestone in the career of Jake, who is gradually asserting himself in the professional ring. Mike Tyson, even at the age of nearly 60, has proven that he has never lost his appeal.
Whether the allegations are true or not, the story of “Iron Fist” and young star Jake Paul will continue to be a hot topic in the boxing world.
