SH0CK SHAKE-UP! Fans Panic as More ‘GMA’ Co-Hosts Face Firing—“Who’s Next to Get the Axe?”
Good Morning America has seen a lot of changes in recent years. It is reportedly due for another major overhaul. Which co-hosts are on the chopping block and next to be fired?
ABC Struggles To Fill Hole Left By Canceled Soaps
ABC made the shocking decision in 2011 to cancel two of its daytime dramas. All My Children and One Life To Live were canceled and replaced with talk shows, which are cheaper to produce. One of the replacement shows, The Revolution, lasted less than a year.
The Chew aired until 2018, when it was canceled due to low ratings. The network struggled to find the right fit to replace the hole left in the afternoon timeslot. They eventually decided to expand their morning news show, Good Morning America, to three hours.
The third hour, called GMA3, hasn’t been doing great in ratings, especially after the departure of two co-hosts. Now it seems ABC plans to overhaul the entire morning show lineup again in an effort to draw in viewers.
More Good Morning America Co-Hosts On Chopping Block
Robin Roberts, George Stephanopoulos, and Michael Strahan are the current co-hosts of the first two hours of Good Morning America. ABC was forced to fire GMA3 co-hosts T.J. Holmes and Amy Robach in 2023 when their affair went public and caused negative press for the network.

DeMarco Morgan and Eva Pilgrim were brought in to replace them. However, ABC is reportedly unhappy with the ratings for the third hour and is considering firing both co-hosts.
Exits Confirmed
Multiple outlets confirmed on Monday, July 7, that the GMA3 hosts were out at ABC. Eva Pilgrim, who worked at ABC News for ten years, and DeMarco Morgan are no longer co-hosting the news program. Eva Pilgrim is reportedly taking over as host of NBC’s Inside Edition. Deborah Norville announced earlier this year that she was leaving the show after thirty years as host. Her last air date was on May 21, 2025.
“Anchoring Inside Edition is truly a dream job. I have been an avid viewer and fan of the show for many years. I’m pinching myself that I get to work with this amazing team. It’s truly an honor to join a show with such a long, rich history,” Eva Pilgrim said about her new gig.

According to statement provided to the media, DeMarco Marcus left GMA3 for a “new journey.” Deadline reported that the network plans to replace the co-hosts with a rotating line-up of ABC news personalities, including Lara Spencer, Will Reeve, Gio Benitez, Sam Champion, Rachel Scott and James Longman.
The constant upheaval of co-anchors hasn’t done well for GMA ratings. One insider spilled to Radar Online that the third hour may be scrapped completely.
“GMA3 won’t be there at the end of the summer,” the source predicted.
