HEARTBREAKING: Jack Osbourne shares emotional UPDATE on mum Sharon’s condition after Ozzy’s D3ATH

Sharon Osbourne is struggling to cope with the loss of her husband, Ozzy Osbourne, her son Jack has revealed in a heartbreaking new interview.

The Black Sabbath legend passed away in July at the age of 76, just days after performing on stage for the final time – at a farewell concert organised by his wife, Sharon.

The couple had returned to their Buckinghamshire home to enjoy Ozzy’s retirement amid the peace of the countryside, but his health rapidly declined following the concert and he passed away at home just weeks later.

Sharon was last seen at a public memorial for Ozzy in Birmingham, where she appeared tearful and emotional while taking in the heartfelt tributes from fans. Since then, she has stepped away from the spotlight to grieve in private, though her children – including Jack – have spoken about the depth of her grief.

During a recent appearance on Good Morning America, Jack was asked how Sharon, who was married to Ozzy for over 4 decades, is doing, the Mirror reports.

The Black Sabbath legend died of heart failure at his Buckinghamshire home on July 22, just two weeks after performing a farewell concert with his bandmates at Birmingham 's Villa Park

Jack admitted: “You know, when people have been asking me that question, I say, ‘She’s OK, but she’s not OK’.”

Asked if she can “feel the affection and appreciation,” from fans, Jack replied: “Oh my god, yeah. I know she feels the love. None of us expected it to be like this, with that outpour of love.”

He expressed: “Every child sits there and kind of has this thought about one day that parents won’t be there, and what will that be like. It’s just a part of being human. We just didn’t think of it. It was a different weight to it, you know?”

In a video shared a few weeks after Ozzy’s funeral, Sharon confessed that she was still trying to find her footing.

Appearing alongside daughter Kelly she admitted: “I’m still having trouble finding the words to express how grateful I am for the overwhelming love and support you’ve shown on social media. Your comments, posts, and tributes have brought me more comfort than you know.”

Sharon admitted she had been 'carried through' by those around her, adding she was 'still finding her footing' after losing her husband of 43 years

She continued: “None of it has gone unnoticed, in fact, it’s carried me through many nights. Though I’m still finding my footing.”

Days before he passed away, Ozzy revealed that he believed his marriage to Sharon was the reason he lived for so long.

The Black Sabbath frontman, who passed away in July at the age of 76, believed he would have left this world much earlier if not for the support of his devoted wife of 43 years.

In the new documentary Ozzy: No Escape From Now, he said: “If it wasn’t for Sharon Osbourne, I wouldn’t be here now. I would definitely not have the success I have. I wouldn’t be sober. I’d be six foot under without a shadow of a doubt.”

“Because I didn’t drink any less or do any more drugs than any of them, but all the guys I used to do it with, they’re all d3ad, so there must be something I did right in the world. The one thing I did was have my Sharon.”

Ozzy was also in the midst of working on a memoir before his passing and hinted that he hadn’t been fully sober. He penned: “If I’d been clean and sober, I wouldn’t be Ozzy. If I had done normal, sensible things, I wouldn’t be Ozzy.”

Speaking to Good Morning America, Jack acknowledged that there was “some truth” to the claim, adding: “But here’s the thing, he was clean and sober at the end. And he was still Ozzy.”

In the years before his d3ath, Ozzy faced multiple health challenges, including a fall in February 2019 and a Parkinson’s diagnosis. His daughter Kelly spoke about the toll it took on Sharon, describing her pain as she cared for Ozzy through gruelling operations and did everything she could to support him.

Speaking in the new documentary, Kelly said: “I think what’s happening to my mum is the most heartbreaking part of this whole thing. And I think that watching the man that she loves most in this world wither is really, really hard.”

Sharon now faces a difficult decision, remain alone in the UK at the Buckinghamshire mansion she renovated to share with Ozzy, or return to Los Angeles to be closer to her family.

In the new BBC documentary, Jack questioned the decision to move back, pointing out that it keeps her far from her beloved grandchildren and could leave her feeling isolated.

A source said: “Sharon’s world has been torn apart, they had a clear plan of what they wanted to do and how they would spend their time together, but she didn’t get to do any of it with Ozzy. It’s so sad.”

BREAKING: ITV Big Brother evicts George over ‘unacceptable language and behaviour’

    George Gilbert

Big Brother has given controversial star George the boot from the house due to “repeated use of unacceptable language and behaviour”. The housemate had previously received a formal warning for his inappropriate language, leading to his eviction.

ITV released a statement, which read: “Following repeated use of unacceptable language and behaviour, George has been removed from the Big Brother House with immediate effect and will no longer participate in the programme.”

It’s been reported that while George will feature in tonight’s episode of Big Brother, his comments won’t be aired as they breach broadcast standards. Contestants were briefed on the rules regarding language and behaviour before entering the Big Brother house, receiving training in respect, dignity and inclusion.

    George on Big Brother

Earlier in the week, George was warned about his behaviour after he mimicked housemate Sam during a game of Truth or Dare. Big Brother reprimanded him in the diary room, saying: “At 11:26, during a game of Truth or Dare, when asked about your least favourite qualities of other Housemates, you said the following, ‘Sam, um too…’, you then went on to mimic Sam using both noises that mocked the way Sam talks and body language that included limp wrists.

“Do you understand how both your language and behaviour could be offensive to Sam, your Housemates and the viewing public?” George confirmed that he had apologised to Sam after making the comments, reports the Mirror.

It’s also reported that George received several warnings for inappropriate language, which were not aired due to broadcasting standards.

George was among the celebrities up for eviction, having received the most nominations alongside Elsa and George. In a twist, Richard also faced eviction after receiving the cursed eye.

Friday’s eviction is set to go ahead as scheduled, with more details to be revealed in tonight’s episode of Big Brother: Late and Live.

But George wasn’t the only one to receive a warning this week. Caroline was reprimanded after making a transphobic comment to fellow housemate Zelah.

After Nancy confessed she found Zelah the most attractive in the house, Caroline retorted: “She’s a girl. No you’re not!” She then added: “But you haven’t got a willy. Is that really bad? But I was talking about…I’m so sorry Z. Is that bad? That was bad wasn’t it? Oh no, I’m dead now. Is that bad?’”.

Caroline was summoned to the Diary Room and given a formal warning over her language.

Strictly Fans Left Heartbroken as BBC Announces Shocking Voting Change

This year’s series introduced a new way for fans to get behind their favourite celebrit

The BBC has spoken out after facing complaints about the new way Strictly Come Dancing fans can lodge their votes.

Since its inception, Strictly fans had gotten used to picking up the phone to back their favourite contestant.

However, in 2025, the voting system moved online, meaning viewers could only show their support via the BBC website.

On Saturday, Claudia Winkleman and the Strictly team introduced the changes, including a QR code for viewers at home to scan, and the news of five free votes per registered account.

    BBC Strictly: Thomas Skinner

BBC Strictly: Thomas Skinner was sent home after the first public vote

Changing the format after two decades didn’t exactly go down well with the show’s fanbase, many of whom flocked to social media to share their annoyance.

The BBC has now acknowledged the reception, writing that it had received official complaints from people “unhappy about the discontinuation of the premium-rate phone vote for Strictly Come Dancing.”

Responding to the complaints, the BBC has now said: “We understand that the changes to the premium-rate phone vote is disappointing for some viewers.

“We know fans of Strictly who like to vote by phone will be impacted, and it’s not something we would have chosen.

    BBC Strictly: Tess Daly

BBC Strictly: Tess Daly revealed the results of the vote during Sunday’s show

“The decision to discontinue such services was made by BT, who previously supplied this to service providers working with the BBC and other broadcasters.

“We have carefully explored phone voting alternatives that would be in line with Ofcom regulations, including ensuring that the Strictly vote is timely and reliable.

“Unfortunately, no viable replacement is available, and so voting will now take place online for all BBC programmes.

“Online voting is already the most popular method for voting on BBC shows, with the majority of votes in the last series of Strictly cast this way.

“To support those new to online voting, clear instructions will be provided during the show. All you need to cast a vote is a free BBC account, which is quick and easy to set up.”

The change in the voting system didn’t pay off for one pairing on Saturday night as Thomas Skinner and Amy Dowden became the first casualty of the series.

The duo landed in the dreaded dance-off opposite Chris Robshaw and Nadiya Bychkova. The judges unanimously chose to save Mr Robshaw.

The decision came as a shock to some, not least Ross King, after the entertainment reporter landed beneath both Mr Skinner and Mr Robshaw on the leaderboard.

BBC Strictly: Thomas Skinner and Amy Dowden faced the dance-off against Chris Robshaw and Nadiya Bychkova | BBCIt was a tearful exit for Ms Dowden, in particular, who said in her exit interview to Tess Daly: “I’ve got to know the real Tom, and he is adorable. He’s looked after me.

“We’ve laughed so much. We’ve worked so hard and a glitterball would have been amazing, but what I’ve learnt in the last few years is that happiness, health, and being alive is more important than anything.

“I’ve made a new friend for life, and I wouldn’t change a thing. There is a Ballroom boy in there, so I’m a bit gutted he didn’t get to do the Ballroom, but the last three years, as you know, have been quite difficult for me.

“I lost all confidence as a dancer – but walking into the room with you with a massive smile and a laugh, you brought me back and, honestly, thank you.”

When asked by Ms Daly about their time on the show, Mr Skinner added: “I’ve loved it. I’ve never danced before, and my stay was short, but Amy’s amazing.

“It’s been great fun and I’ve enjoyed it. I can’t really dance that well, but I’ve had fun! Thank you, Amy – sorry that we haven’t done too good, because you’re a different class.”

Channel 4’s Sunday Brunch made a comeback this week, though with a temporary replacement stepping in for Tim Lovejoy. Former BBC Breakfast star Steph McGovern joined Simon Rimmer on the morning show. As the presenting duo introduced their panel of guests – including Al Murray, Robert Sean Leonard, Sandra Yi Sencindiver and Rudimental – the ex-Steph’s Packed Lunch host confessed she felt “a bit nervous” about filling Tim’s position.

“Good morning and welcome to Sunday Brunch live on Channel 4, I am Simon Rimmer,” Simon opened. “And I am not Tim Lovejoy, but I am Steph McGovern,” his temporary co-presenter announced, reports the Mirror.

“Tim’s having a bit of a lie-in,” Simon disclosed, adding: “How lovely to have you on the show.”

Steph responded: “It feels weird, doesn’t it? For you, is this like bring your friend to work day? It feels a bit like that! Normally we’re drinking!”

Simon commented: “I feel a bit responsible because we’re proper mates outside of telly, and I used to do your show, Steph’s Packed Lunch. But it’s very nice to have you today.”

When questioned about her nerves, she admitted: “I am a little bit nervous! Because I know what you’re like, but it’s lovely to be here.”

Audiences were thrilled to see Steph taking the helm, with one fan posting: “Yay Steph is presenting today you’ll smash it girl.”

Steph fronted BBC Breakfast from 2011 before switching to Channel 4 for her own show in 2019.

Nevertheless, Steph’s Packed Lunch was cancelled in December 2023 when Channel 4 confirmed its axing.

She expressed at the time: “I’m not going to waffle on because I can’t say anything emotional without doing that ugly crying.

“But thank you for watching, thank you for everyone who’s been on the show.

“I’ve loved it, and I am glad you have to. That is all from us here in Leeds. Look after yourselves, and goodbye!”

She further added on social media: “This time last week – the final @packedlunchc4 team pic (not everyone is in it, but it’s a good chunk of us).

“It’s been nearly 5 years since the show idea was pitched to me (I was battling pregnancy sickness and 3am starts on BBC Breakfast at the time).

“The dealbreaker for me (after money [sic]) was that the show had to be authentic and reflect the real lives of our viewers AND our workplace had to make everyone feel welcome….whether you were with us for an hour or 4 years.

“I am so proud of what our amazing team achieved so please allow me a moment to blow their trumpet…..

    Steph McGovern

“In 4 years – we turned a pub in Leeds Dock into a cracking TV studio (after starting the show in my house in lockdown), we employed loads of people from the local area (with many having never worked in telly before), we promoted talented people quickly, we provided work experience to countless people of all ages in all parts of the show (many of them getting jobs from this too) and we gave lots of people their first break presenting on the telly too.

“We built a Northern powerhouse. And on top of that we put out 675 episodes, got a BAFTA nomination, gave a voice to people/topics that other programmes didn’t and had a proper laugh along the way.

“Thank you to everyone who made that happen and of course to all of our fabulous viewers who were a crucial part of our dysfunctional family too. The messages we’ve had from you have been incredible. Thank you.”

Amber Davies has admitted that she was ‘in tears’ during Strictly Come Dancing rehearsals as she hit back at those who have criticised her over her dance experience

Amber Davies has been left ‘in tears’ during Strictly Come Dancing rehearsals. The musical theatre star, 29, was whisked into the cast of the BBC Latin and ballroom show at just 48 hours notice to act as a replacement for fellow Love Island winner Dani Dyer, who had sustained an injury in rehearsals before the first live show.

The TV star found fame as the winner of ITV2’s dating show in 2017 but had previously trained at the prestigious London drama school Urdang and used her platform to launch a career in musical theatre. She starred in the leading role of the Pretty Woman: The Musical UK tour and more recently starred in the West End production of The Great Gatsby.

Just days before she was announced as Dani’s replacement, it was revealed that she will be taking on the tough role of Elle Woods, the part originally made famous by Reese Witherspoon in the 2001 classic, in a new UK tour of Legally Blonde. She will be following in the footsteps of industry peers like Lucie Jones, Sheridan Smith and former Coronation Street star Faye Brookes with the part, but instantly faced backlash from fans of the dancing show, who took issue with her wealth of experience.

During an appearance on Wednesday’s This Morning alongside her professional partner Nikita Kuzmin, with whom she topped the leader board last week, Amber insisted that the skills needed are two different disciplines and she has been left struggling in rehearsals.

She told hosts Cat Deeley and Ben Shephard: “I wanna say I think the ballroom and Latin community know that they are worlds apart from musical theatre.

“I do understand where the [argument] comes from because yes, I can perform. Yesterday, we were doing our American Smooth and even just walking left, right, left, right brought me to tears because it’s so much more complicated than you imagine.”

The former Dancing on Ice star then insisted that she never expected a chance like this to come along and she is going to ‘work hard’ regardless. She added: “I’ve been given this opportunity, it came so quickly, I never thought I’d experience Strictly Come Dancing, so I am going to put in the work.” Nikita, who has been on the show since 2021, Nikita insisted that Amber is the ‘best student’ he has ever had.

Viewers at home still issued their opinion towards Amber, with one writing on X: “She’s trained in musical Theatre. She’s as close to a professional as you can get. The show has lost its way!” But others were more positive, and were pleased to see Nikita reuniting with his former dance partner Tilly Ramsay, who had been on the programme to present a cooking segment, and was ‘manifesting’ success for the couple.

They wrote: “Full circle moment on this morning with a Tilly x nikita reunion & nikita saying how Cynthia Erivo gave him & tills their first 40 & now Cynthia is back whilst nikita dancers with Amber his 5th celeb. To early to be Manifesting that ten from her already??”

This is not the first time Amber has had to defend herself against the Strictly Come Dancing fanbase. Upon the announcement, she insisted that despite her experience, she’s a novice when it comes to waltzing around a dance floor.

Speaking on her Call To Stage podcast, she admitted: “I feel like I know they will be like, ‘She’s trained.’”

“Yes, I did train in musical theatre, however, I am a beginner when it comes to ballroom Latin dancing. So I feel like I will be starting from scratch. I mean, I’ll give it my all.” She pleaded: “Please vote for me. Please, I beg.”

SAD NEWS: The Chase’s Anne Hegerty Receives WARNING in Emergency ANNOUNCEMENT Doctor’s

    Anne Hegerty

The Chase star Anne Hegerty has been issued a warning from a doctor about prediabetes. In a new interview, the quizmaster revealed she has lost around 30lbs, but claims this isn’t down to one particular method.

Despite this, Anne said her doctor has advised her to take mediciation that could help improve her health, and she admits it’s something she’s considering.

    Anne Hegerty

“I’m not doing anything deliberately, except I did think to myself that I needed to get more active, because I really don’t want much and I should do more of that,” she shared.

“I also need to do more stretches, because I’ve got no core strength and I think actually that may be a good idea.”

She added to Yours Magazine: “My doctor said to me about me being prediabetic and suggested something like Ozempic and I told him I’d think about it, but I’m only thinking about it.”

The 67-year-old said the medic suggested this route to help her “stave off diabetes”, adding: “I think I’m OK, but I’ll bear it in mind.”

Anne’s weight loss journey is said to have began during her stint on I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! in 2018.

Living off minimal food in the jungle, the quizmaster reportedly lost a stone in just three weeks and has shed more since.

Speaking on the Jeremy Vine show in 2019, Anne said that while she’s “not a fit fat person”, she’s “not unhealthy”, though expressed a wish to become “fitter”.

More recently, she jokingly claimed that having money had sparked better eating decisions.

Speaking to Bella magazine, Anne said: “Some people have said that [she’s lost weight], but I haven’t been doing anything deliberate.

“I do find I’m not as hungry these days – it’s to do with being rich (laughs). It’s brilliant – I love being rich!

“It just means I have this sense of security, and do I need to eat this? Am I hungry right now?

“I might be hungry later, so let’s put it aside and I can come back and eat it up.”

Anne, who previously revealed she was on benefits before securing a job on The Chase, claimed she was “hungrier” when she was “poor”.

“You feel hungrier, and that’s why poor people eat more, and they eat fattening stuff,” she added to the publication.

    What is pre-diabetes?

Many people have blood sugar levels that are above the normal range, but not high enough to be diagnosed as having diabetes. This is known as non-diabetic hyperglycaemia, or pre-diabetes. People with non-diabetic hyperglycaemia are at greater risk of developing type 2 diabetes, but the risk can be reduced through various lifestyle changes, according to the NHS.

The most common types of diabetes

Type 1 diabetes is a lifelong condition where the body’s immune system attacks and destroys the cells that produce insulin.

Type 2 diabetes is where the body does not produce enough insulin, or the body’s cells do not react to insulin properly.

Gestational diabetes is diabetes that can develop during pregnancy. It affects women who haven’t been affected by diabetes before, and it usually goes away after giving birth.

    Anne Hegerty

    What is Ozempic?

Ozempic is not pescribed as a weight loss drug. It is medicine for adults with type 2 diabetes, which, along with diet and exercise, may improve blood sugar. Diabetes.org.uk states: “Ozempic, a brand name for semaglutide, belongs to a group of drugs called GLP-1 agonists – these can also be called GLP-1 analogues, GLP-1 RAs and incretin mimetics.

“There are several different GLP-1 agonists available in the UK. Ozempic is a treatment for type 2 diabetes, which can help you to manage blood sugar levels. You can take it on its own or with other diabetes medications such as metformin, sulphonylureas or insulin.”

If you are concerned about diabetes, speak to your doctor.

BBC issues statement over Strictly Come Dancing phone voting fury

The BBC has finally addressed some of the big changes they’ve made to Strictly Come Dancing following Thomas Skinner’s elimination

The BBC recently introduced a wave of changes to Strictly Come Dancing, which hasn’t gone down well with fans online. On Sunday (October 5), viewers tuned in for the results show, which noticeably featured a new voting system. Rather than calling up to vote for their favourite couple, viewers can now scan a QR code on the screen to place their votes online.

Viewers will need to sign up to their BBC account or create one online for free to place their votes. It’s fair to say the end of premium-rate phone lines hasn’t gone down well with fans, with many furious that it’s cutting off a large portion of the audience watching at home.

Now, the flagship channel has released a statement following the wave of complaints it has received about the discontinuation of the reality show’s call lines.

They wrote: “We understand that the changes to the premium-rate phone vote are disappointing for some viewers. We know fans of Strictly who like to vote by phone will be impacted, and it’s not something we would have chosen.

They continued: “To support those new to online voting, clear instructions will be provided during the show. All you need to cast a vote is a free BBC account, which is quick and easy to set up. Full details are available on our ‘Get the Best out of the BBC’ page.”

After Strictly shared a step-by-step guide on how to vote under the new system on Instagram, many took to the comments to express their disappointment for those unable to vote online. One user wrote: “My nan has been a fan of Strictly for years and is not online at all. It’s really upset her as she loves to support her favourite couples each year.”

Another fumed: “Not everyone has internet access or the computer skills for this, particularly the older fans, of which I am sure that there are many. For a show that’s seemingly doing its best to promote inclusion, this makes that gesture feel quite performative.”

A third echoed: “This is a ridiculous change. Some people have been watching for 20 years and have no idea how to do anything online. You’re excluding a large amount of your audience for no reason.”

Meanwhile, others argued that this change was bound to happen and that many elderly viewers are very up to date with the times. One user pointed out: “Every family member I have in that generation uses Facebook and WhatsApp to contact family and is a competent smartphone user; this tech has existed for nearly two decades now.”

Another agreed: “People moaning about elderly people not being able to vote – my grandparents all use the internet over the age of 80 and 90 and no issues. Don’t understand the panic.”

But that wasn’t the only change to the results show, after they debuted a brand-new order of play on the evening show. Last year, the professional dancers opened the show with a group dance before delivering half of the results.

Before the final round of the cast results, Claudia hosted the judges’ critiques and the musical act before closing the show with the dreaded dance-off and eliminating one couple from the competition.

But this year, producers shook up the format, instead opening the show with a reflection of last night’s show, pushing the group dance to halfway through the show, and splitting up the results segment into three sections instead of two.

It didn’t take long before viewers flocked to social media to voice their frustrations online, as one fumed: “Now they don’t announce the first bottom two couples at the start? Can they stop changing the format please, I don’t like it.”

Another agreed, “I hate the new results show format. It’s so weird. I preferred it before.” A third chimed in, “Dear Strictly producers, The new Results show format is terrible—please change it back as a matter of urgency. By next week at the latest—ideally partway through this show.”

A fourth chimed in: “The new results format made me feel like I just watched it on 1.5x speed.” A fifth pointed out, “I don’t like the new format where the last four couples discover if they’re in the dance off.”

    George on Big Brother

Big Brother has pulled controversial star George out of the house over “repeated use of unacceptable language and behaviour”. The housemate was given a formal warning earlier in the week for inappropriate language – and now he has been evicted from the house.

In a statement, ITV told The Mirror: “Following repeated use of unacceptable language and behaviour, George has been removed from the Big Brother House with immediate effect and will no longer participate in the programme.”

The Mirror understands that while George will appear in tonight’s episode of Big Brother, his comments will not be aired on the show as they are contrary to broadcast standards. Contestants were told the rules regarding language and behaviour ahead of entering the Big Brother house, receiving training in respect, dignity and inclusion.

George received a warning over his behaviour earlier in the week after imitating housemate Sam during a game of Truth or Dare. He was told by Big Brother in the diary room: “At 11:26, during a game of Truth or Dare, when asked about your least favourite qualities of other Housemates, you said the following, ‘Sam, um too…’, you then went on to mimic Sam using both noises that mocked the way Sam talks and body language that included limp wrists.

“Do you understand how both your language and behaviour could be offensive to Sam, your Housemates and the viewing public?” George then said that he had apologised to Sam after making the comments.

However, The Mirror understands that George was given several warnings for unacceptable language which were not broadcast as they were contrary to broadcast standards.

George was one of the stars who was up for eviction, having received the most nominations alongside Elsa and George. Meanwhile, Richard was up for eviction after receiving the cursed eye in a twist.

Friday’s eviction is set to continue as planned, with more details being revealed in tonight’s episode of Big Brother: Late & Live.

George wasn’t the only one to receive a warning this week, with Caroline receiving a warning after making a transphobic remark to fellow housemate Zelah. After Nancy revealed that she found Zelah to be the most attractive in the house, Caroline said: “She’s a girl. No you’re not!” she then added: “But you haven’t got a willy. Is that really bad? But I was talking about…I’m so sorry Z. Is that bad? That was bad wasn’t it? Oh no, I’m dead now. Is that bad?’”

Caroline was called to the Diary Room and given a formal warning over her language.

George Clarke and Alexis’ Movie Week song revealed

Sitting with Claudia Winkleman and their fellow cast members on Sunday night, Alexis revealed that they’ll be dancing to a song from a Netflix film this Saturday (October 11).

“Are you ready?” Alexis asked George when Claudia told them to reveal their song choice for Movie Week.

“We are going to be dancing to K-Pop Demon Hunters, and we’re dancing to Soda Pop,” Alexis said.

“Yes!” a baffled George exclaimed, drawing big laughs from the audience and his co-stars.

“Get in, my favourite! That is such fantastic news,” he joked.

Yesterday (Tuesday, October 7), the official Strictly social media accounts revealed that Alexis and George’s routine will be a Couple’s Choice. And fans are not happy that George will be dancing his Couple’s Choice to the Netflix bop.

Fans fume over George and Alexis’ song choice

Many viewers were of the opinion that he should have danced to something to pay tribute to his mum and her battle with encephalitis.

George’s mum was diagnosed with encephalitis – a serious brain inflammation caused by viral infections or autoimmune conditions – back in 2015. It can lead to seizures and can be fatal.

George once explained on TikTok that his mum was given a 20% chance of survival after her diagnosis. She now lives with no sense of smell, taste, and has “little to no long-term memory”.

Others fumed that George couldn’t dance to a song by his close pal and fellow content creator, Arthur Hill.

“Need to have a word with the Strictly producers because WHY are you giving George a COUPLE’S CHOICE to a song that HE DOESN’T EVEN KNOW,” one viewer fumed. “A couple’s choice is meant to be a song and dance close to them where they have the chance to tell their story… so [bleep]ed off.”

“So upset for George what the [bleep] he should’ve got given a salsa/samba for that song instead of them wasting his couple’s choice dance on week 3 to a song he doesn’t even know,” another fumed.

    ‘So upset for George’

The angry comments didn’t stop there though.

“MAKING GEORGE DO HIS COUPLE’S CHOICE TO SODA POP ????? I’m sorry that’s genuinely made me so angry and upset for him, he can’t do it for his mum and encephalitis or dance to Arthur it’s literally called couple’s CHOICE, it makes no sense when soda pop is a salsa song,” a third said.

George being the first celeb to do a couple’s choice this season of #strictly and he’s doing it to soda pop for K-Pop Demon Hunters,” a fourth grumbled.

There was a bit of positivity from some fans, though.

“George and Alexis wronged [crying emojis]. They’ll still somehow find a way to make Soda Pop good tho,” one fan commented on the official Strictly Instagram.

“Interesting that Soda Pop is a Couple’s Choice! Excited to see what Alexis is gonna bring to the table choreo-wise,” another said.
