HEARTBREAK: Coleen Nolan Reveals Sh0cking Family Struggle as She Sends Emotional Support to Sister Anne

The Nolan’s have been plagued with cancer diagnoses

Loose Women star Coleen Nolan has made an emotional family confession about her sister’s cancer battles.

The Nolan family have heartbreakingly had numerous cancer battles over the years. And Coleen has tragically lost her sisters’ Linda and Bernie to the horrible disease.

But Coleen’s other sister, Anne, has had her own experience with breast cancer. And the Loose Women star admitted she doesn’t feel her sister gets enough credit for what she went through.

    Anne Nolan is now cancer-free

Anne appeared on Loose Women today (October 7) and revealed that a few months ago, she was told her cancer was gone.

Heartbreakingly, Anne has had cancer twice in her life. The first time was when she was 29, but that lump was benign. But 20 years later, she found another lump.

She explained: “I went to the doctors the next day and it was diagnosed as breast cancer. I was 49. When they said it was cancer, I was kind of in a state of being out there somewhere. I didn’t really take it in.”

Anne admitted she didn’t really grasp what it meant, and even was up-front about it when telling people.

She said: “I was abrupt to my daughter’s, one of them was only 13. I said ‘it’s cancer’ and she laughed and asked if I was joking. And I replied: ‘No, I’m not kidding. It is cancer’.”

But the second time she found a lump, it was actually only two weeks after her sister, Linda, had also been re-diagnosed with cancer.

Coleen explained: “When you found the lump the second time, it was just after Linda had been re-diagnosed. The two of them had it. We got both phone calls.”

But thankfully, a few months ago, Anne got the all-clear and is now cancer-free. But that didn’t stop Coleen from making a heartbreaking admission.

    Coleen ‘felt sorry’ for Anne

Over the years, there had been a lot of attention on Linda’s cancer journey.

Linda fought against the illness for more than 20-years. And tragically lost her battle earlier this year.

And while there were huge differences in their individual cancer battles, Coleen couldn’t help but admit she felt “sorry” for Anne.

When discussing how cancer had impacted their family, Coleen admitted she felt like she had to remind people that Anne had cancer too.

The Loose Woman star said: “The thing with Anne. I think I felt, well, not exactly sorry for you, but. I think you have handled it really well. Anne has had cancer twice as well.

“But because Bernie and Linda’s was aggressive. I sometimes felt Anne was told ‘Yeah, yeah. You’re fine’ Do you know what I mean? It was all on Bernie and Linda, obviously. But sometimes I would think: ‘We need to remember that Anne had it twice’.”

Anne seemed grateful for her sister’s comments but admitted it was because the cancer’s were completely different.

She explained: “The difference is my cancer hadn’t gone anywhere else. It was just in my breasts. It was kind of different. Their cancer was travelling. Mine was in one place.”

BREAKING: King Charles To Announce Nation-Shaking Decision In Days That Could Change Everything

The new Archbishop of Canterbury is expected to be announced this week.

The one appointed to take up the role is seen as the spiritual leader of the Anglican church.

They also have a seat in the House of Lords.

Almost a year on from Justin Welby’s resignation, the new Archbishop of Canterbury will be revealed on Friday, October 3.

Welby resigned from the role in November 2024 over his failure to report prolific child abuser John Smyth.

The Archbishop of Canterbury is appointed by The King, as Supreme Governor of the Church of England, on the recommendation of the Crown Nominations Commission (CNC).

Following the resignation of an Archbishop of Canterbury, a Crown Nominations Commission is established to identify and submit the name of a preferred candidate to the Prime Minister.

The Prime Minister is constitutionally responsible for advising the King on the appointment, Express reports.

Once Charles approves the chosen candidate, the Prime Minister’s office announces the name of the Archbishop-designate.

Currently, two women are among the favourites to lead the Church of England, becoming the symbolic figurehead for 85 million Anglicans worldwide.

According to Reuters, leading contenders include Bishop Rachel Treweek – the CoE’s first-ever female diocesan bishop – and Iranian-born Bishop Guli Francis-Dehqani – who came to Britain as a refugee with her parents following the 1979 Islamic Revolution.

Unlike the Catholic Church, which elected Pope Leo just 17 days after Francis’ death, the CoE has taken almost a year to make its decision due to a complex vetting process.

Don’t miss the biggest and breaking stories by signing up to the BirminghamLive newsletter here.

Jonathan Evans, a former head of the MI5 spy agency, was chosen by the Government to lead the 20-strong selection commission.

He said in July he wanted to avoid a list of candidates where all were ‘white, Oxbridge, male and come from the southeast of England’.

The commission includes 17 voting members, including five representatives from the global Anglican Communion, three from Canterbury, and six from the CoE’s governing body.

Shock Confirmed: Emma Watson Flaunts Massive Diamond Ring, Sending Fans Into Frenzy During JK Rowling Row

Emma Watson has fuelled engagement speculation after appearing at Paris Fashion Week sporting a substantial diamond ring on her left hand.

The 35-year-old actress attended Monday’s Miu Miu show at the Palais d’Iéna wearing a split-shank halo design featuring a round-cut central diamond estimated at approximately 1.5 carats.

Away from the limelight, the former Harry Potter star is believed to have been dating Kieran Brown for more than a year.

The couple met whilst Ms Watson was pursuing her part-time master’s degree in creative writing at Oxford University, where Mr Brown is completing his PhD.

Ms Watson and Mr Brown have maintained a low profile throughout their relationship, with the actress having previously described herself as “self-partnered” in 2019.

Just last month, Ms Watson voiced concerns about societal expectations surrounding tying the knot, telling Jay Shetty’s podcast that pressure on women to marry constitutes “violence and cruelty”.

“I think it’s such a violence and it’s such a cruelty on people—and especially young people, and especially women—to make them feel like they have no worth, or like they haven’t succeeded yet in life, because they haven’t forced to its culmination something that I just don’t think can or should ever be forced,” she stated.

Despite her criticism of marriage pressure, Ms Watson expressed hope about her own future, saying: “I hope it happens to me, but I don’t feel entitled to it. It will either be part of my purpose here and my destiny, or it won’t.”

The actress showcased her ring while dressed in a pale pink shift dress beneath a brown suede jacket, completing her ensemble with black patent leather heels featuring triple straps and a black handbag.

Ms Watson’s appearance marked her first Paris Fashion Week outing in three years, having largely retreated from public view.

It also came merely days after author JK Rowling launched a scathing attack on the actress, branding her “ignorant of how ignorant she is” in a 700-word statement posted on X.

The Harry Potter creator’s criticism followed Ms Watson’s comments on Jay Shetty’s podcast, where she expressed her continued affection for Ms Rowling despite their opposing views on transgender rights.

“I really don’t believe that by having had [my] experience and holding the love and support and views that I have, [means] that I can’t and don’t treasure Jo and the person that I had personal experiences with,” Ms Watson had said.

Ms Rowling accused the actress of having “so little experience of real life” due to becoming “a multimillionaire at fourteen”, suggesting the 35-year-old couldn’t comprehend how “the trashing of women’s rights” affects less privileged women.

The author particularly condemned Ms Watson’s 2022 Baftas speech, declaring she was “here for all the witches”, which Ms Rowling interpreted as a targeted slight against her gender-critical stance.

Ms Rowling revealed Ms Watson had sent her a handwritten note saying “I’m so sorry for what you’re going through” during a period of intense threats against the author, yet had simultaneously “publicly poured more petrol on the flames”.

  • I Tried Amanda Holden’s New BBC Quiz Show – And One Shocking Detail Left Me Speechless

I Tried Amanda Holden’s New BBC Quiz Show – And One Shocking Detail Left Me Speechless

Sara Baalla takes on BBC’s The Inner Circle

Amanda Holden has taken the reins of a brand new quiz show called The Inner Circle, which made its debut on BBC One on Monday (October 6).

The BBC has served up two versions of the game for viewers. The daytime version pits six contestants against each other in a battle of wits, while the Saturday night edition sees celebrities teaming up with members of the public.

In a unique twist, players are randomly assigned a secret stash of cash – anything from zero to £4,000 for the daytime show, and £5,000 for the Saturday night special.

Each contestant is only privy to their own value, sparking a strategic gameplay filled with deception and nerve across several challenging rounds, reports the Mirror.

Amanda Holden hosting The Inner Circle

Amanda Holden is hosting a new game show on BBC One (Image: BBC)

I had the privilege of visiting the set of The Inner Circle in Glasgow back in April, where a select group of journalists were given an exclusive behind-the-scenes tour.

After exploring the set, we settled in to watch a live recording of the celebrity version of the game.

The episode, scheduled to air this Saturday (October 11) at 5.20pm on BBC One, featured stars such as Hannah Cockroft, Rick Edwards, Sarah Parish, Fay Ripley, Darren Harriott and Lawrence Chaney.

The studio was charged with tension as the teams discovered their monetary values and began to deceive their fellow players, culminating in a nail-biting finale.

The interaction between the players and their celebrity partners was intriguing to watch, but one detail particularly caught my attention.

    The Inner Circle

I visited the show’s set earlier this year (Image: Tern TV)

Throughout the recording, Amanda engaged enthusiastically with each contestant, creating a warm and relaxed atmosphere. Within moments, I had forgotten that the Britain’s Got Talent judge was the host and began to see her as just another player.

Adding an interesting twist to the show, Amanda is kept in the dark about who holds the largest cash sum, leaving her, like the viewers, guessing who’s being truthful. Meanwhile, we were privy to a piece of paper revealing exactly who was playing mind games with their co-stars, and there were quite a few!

Later on, a select group of journalists were paired up and given the chance to play the game alongside Amanda.

We participated in a round of Circle Circuit, where each pair were given a true or false question. If answered correctly, you could roll a dice and advance that number of spaces around the board. The first duo to complete the circuit emerged victorious, which, as it turned out, was myself and my partner Jordan.

    The Inner Circle

I was left floored by one detail (Image: Tern TV)

In a cash builder round, we were then allotted 60 seconds to answer a series of general knowledge questions. It’s only when you’re under the glaring lights that you draw a blank on even the simplest of questions.

After successfully answering seven questions, Jordan and I were presented with the choice to Split or Shaft. We discreetly made our decisions on a tablet, before the floor turned gold, indicating that we both chose to share our pretend winnings. However, in the actual game, not all players are as generous, adding an extra layer of excitement for both Amanda and the audience.

It was intriguing to have a behind-the-scenes look at such an entertaining quiz show. Despite some viewers criticising The Inner Circle for its resemblance to Golden Balls, I would argue that it’s these similarities that make it so captivating.

If you enjoyed watching contestants swindle their fellow players in the Jasper Carrott show, then this contemporary version will certainly appeal. Who doesn’t enjoy a bit of treachery and deception?

Ore Oduba’s Ex-Wife GOES PUBLIC With NEW RELATIONSHIP — Fans STUNNED By His Eight-Word Response Amid CHEATING Rumors

It has been almost a year to the day that BBC star and Strictly winner Ore Oduba announced the end of his nine-year marriage to his wife Portia Jett, 35, with whom he shares two children.

Since then, the 38-year-old has been enjoying the single life, while Portia juggles the day to day childcare of their children Roman, seven, and Genie, four.

But now it seems that Portia, who is the daughter of Anti-Nowhere League lead singer Nick Culmer, is finding some solace in a new romance.

The mother-of-two shared a photo of her with a mystery man in a blue cap, whom she says has ‘changed everything.’

In the caption, she wrote: ‘You came along and changed everything. PS: Happy Birthday.’

A slew of friends rushed to the comments to congratulate Portia, including Strictly professional dancer Karen Hauer who penned three red heart emojis.

It has been almost a year to the day that BBC star and Strictly winner Ore Oduba announced the end of his nine-year marriage to his wife Portia Jett, 35, with whom he shares two children

But it now seems Portia, who is the daughter of Anti-Nowhere League lead singer Nick Culmer, has found love once again as she shared a cosy snap to Instagram with a new man

She wrote: ¿You came along and changed everything. PS: Happy Birthday¿

    Fans penned: ‘I am over the moon for you, you deserve every bit of happiness; If anyone deserves this happiness it’s you;

    ‘Yes yes yes yes!!! If anyone deserves this happiness it’s you! So happy for you! Made my Sunday; I’m so happy for you lovely! You’re amazing and deserve wonderful things;

‘Oh this is such happy news! I am absolutely thrilled for you; This is so lovely, I had a feeling there was someone new’.

Last month the former television researcher voiced her despair during her Instagram live, Pour it with Portia, where she discussed the challenges of solo parenting.

She said: ‘What I am going through is one of the most stressful things, doing the daily grind, looking after two kids and being present.

‘You feel like you’re constantly treading water and sometimes I feel like I can’t do this anymore, I am done.’

While drinking a bottle of prosecco, she confessed that she’s trying to cut down on booze, having turned to the drinking as a coping strategy during a difficult period.

‘My tolerance of alcohol has gone up in the last few years. My tolerance is high now, so three glasses don’t touch the sides. I once had a diet of pure alcohol, but I am through the trenches now,’ she confessed.

Portia also shared an Instagram Story of the mystery man facing away from the camera as they enjoyed a walk around a harbour

A slew of friends rushed to the comments to congratulate Portia, including Strictly professional dancer Karen Hauer who penned three red heart emojis

Last month the former television researcher voiced her despair during her Instagram live, Pour it with Portia, where she discussed the challenges of solo parenting

Ore and Portia, who share two young children Roman, seven, and Genie, four, wed in 2015 – five years after they met at Loughborough university in 2010.

Announcing the split, Ore wrote: ‘Hi guys. Portia and I are sad to announce that we separated earlier this year. We’re so grateful for all the love you’ve shared with us both over the years.

‘And we want to thank you in advance for respecting our privacy as we navigated this difficult transition. We will be making no further comment. Be kind, always.’

It comes after Ore became visibly emotional on Loose Women as he remembered his sister, who tragically took their own life earlier this year.

The broadcaster, joined host Kaye Adams on the ITV show, appearing alongside panellists Judi Love, Oti Mabuse and Nadia Sawalha.

Ore spoke enthusiastically about his starring role in Mel Brooks’ musical Young Frankenstein, which is running at Manchester’s Hope Mill Theatre.

But the conversation soon turned to his younger sister Lola, who died in April, and Ore spoke with moving honesty about the grief he continues to live with.

Admitting he had broken down earlier that same morning, he told viewers: ‘I had another cry about my sister this morning.’

As a photograph of the siblings was shown on the studio screen, Ore’s composure faltered and he was seen fighting back tears.

Kaye offered gentle reassurance, telling him: ‘It’s okay.’ Taking a moment to steady himself, he replied quietly: ‘I know it is.’

Opening up further, the presenter revealed that he believes Lola has been reaching out to him since her passing.

‘Friends who have lost family members have said to me, ‘you just wait, you wait for the signs’,’ he explained.

Following their marriage ending, Ore has been enjoying the single life, while Portia juggles the day to day childcare of their children Roman, seven, and Genie, four

‘And I picked up my phone the other day, I saw my sister there with my nieces and nephews and I said ‘where are you? Where are you sis? I need you here.’

With a small smile, he went on to describe how, shortly afterwards, he cut his finger while cooking dinner – something he took as a sign from Lola.

Despite his grief, Ore said he feels determined to live a fuller, braver life in their honour.

‘I feel finally now able to live a version of my life that’s going to get me through the rest of it because I know sadly my sister who took their life was unable to do it in their time,’ he said.

One way he plans to do so is by running the London Marathon, a challenge he admitted once terrified him.

‘It used to be the thing that scared me the most – to run the London Marathon in honour of my sister, they loved running, they struggled and then became obsessed with it,’ he explained.

Though he has not yet decided which charity to support, Ore said he wants to ensure funds are directed towards causes that mattered to Lola.

He told the panel he hoped the money raised would go to ‘black people, queer people and women.’

Kaye apologised for bringing up such painful memories, but Ore insisted he would never stop speaking about his sister.

‘I will speak about my sister until my dying day. I am grateful to be in a place where I can share that,’ he said.

Strictly Come Dancing’s George Clarke revealed he needed urgent medical treatment last week after sustaining a back injury during practice sessions. The social media star discussed his injury on his podcast, The Useless Hotline Podcast – welcoming Strictly professional dance partner Alexis Warr as a guest for the first time.

The 25 year old impressed both the judging panel and viewers with his spectacular Paso Doble on Saturday, earning a score of 30.

He secured third position on the leaderboard for the opening two weeks, trailing behind Lewis Cope and Amber Davies who claimed second and first place respectively, reports the Mirror. Despite his commanding performance on the scoreboard, George disclosed on his podcast that his rehearsal time for the Paso Doble was reduced due to requiring physiotherapy for a back injury he picked up during training. “I didn’t want it to be a thing on the night,” he explained. “That’s why they asked in the VT, they were like, ‘Do you want to mention your back?’ and I said, ‘I don’t want it to be a thing.’”

He continued: “I had a pinched nerve all week in my back. I had acupuncture half way through the week. I went to physio four times.” Regarding how the injury occurred, George confessed that the problem arose after a handstand went awry. “I was like, ‘I’ll throw in a handstand or something.’ I like doing a handstand, if I keep my legs together I’d probably be better at it but it doesn’t feel fun when you do it that way,” he confessed.

“I did that and got up and went, ‘My back hurts a little bit actually. Ah s**t, I’ve got a little twinge in there somehow. I’ll try to carry on.’”

After taking a lunch break, Will admitted he couldn’t return to training and “went straight to physio” instead. “I went to physio the next morning as well. Danced for a bit, sat down,” he added.

Alexis noted that this was the ‘most frustrated’ she had seen George, who chimed in: “Monday is when they throw a load of information at you and then it’s Terrible Tuesday because you’re trying to figure it out.”

Not only was he behind with training, but George had to keep stopping rehearsal due to his back pain.

“It would get to the point where I’m getting it then I had to sit down because my back was hurting,” he explained.

Earlier this week, George expressed his gratitude for the support he’s received during the competition, posting on Instagram: “Probably [a] good time to continue being serious and thank everyone for their unbelievable support so far.

“Whether you’re old or new (here, not just in general) I really appreciate the comments, the messages and obviously the votes!”.

ITV Big Brother viewers fume over feature change just minutes into new series: 'This is brutal!'

Viewers of ITV2’s Big Brother expressed immediate outrage during Sunday evening’s series premiere when presenters revealed a contestant would be eliminated on the opening night.

The 2025 series launched with hosts announcing the unexpected format modification within minutes of going live, departing from the programme’s traditional approach of delaying eliminations until the second week.

Social media platforms witnessed an instant wave of criticism as audiences condemned the decision.

The reality programme, returning for its third series since moving to ITV, introduced the controversial element alongside mysterious eyeball props distributed to each arriving contestant.

The sudden announcement prompted widespread disapproval from longtime followers who questioned the broadcaster’s judgement in implementing such a dramatic change to the established format on launch night.

AJ Odudu and Will Best welcomed contestants to the house whilst distributing peculiar eyeball objects that descended through tubes as participants exited taxis and approached the stage.

The presenters encouraged audiences to download the programme’s application to participate in the voting process for the unprecedented opening-night elimination.

The hosts, who have presented the show since its ITV revival in 2023, delivered the shocking announcement to both studio audiences and viewers at home.

Each arriving contestant received the mysterious prop before entering the house, though the exact purpose of these items remained unclear during the broadcast.

The elimination twist represents a significant departure from the show’s established pattern, which typically allows contestants to settle before facing potential removal from the competition.

Fans took to X to voice their frustration, with one user writing: “I just switched into ITV2 and the first thing I hear is an eviction tonight…wtf x.”

Another viewer declared: “An eviction TONIGHT! ! ! Oh this is brutal #BBUK.”

Additional criticism emerged as one social media user stated: “An eviction on night 1 is just cruel #BBUK.”

Another agreed: “Eviction on night 1! What a terrible twist! ITV have lost the plot big time! #BBUK.”

Further complaints highlighted viewers’ preferences for traditional formatting, with one person posting: “The eye roll s***and an eviction on the first night… Can we just have a classy normal live launch ITV.”

Another simply described the twist as “brutal” whilst questioning why producers implement such changes when audiences clearly oppose them.

The programme’s 2025 edition extends to seven weeks, marking an additional week compared to previous series as part of the show’s 25th anniversary celebrations.

The extended duration allows for more challenges, nominations and evictions throughout the competition period.

Accompanying the main broadcast, Big Brother: Late & Live continues to air nightly, featuring exclusive content, celebrity panel discussions and additional footage from the house.

The live stream option remains available for dedicated viewers seeking continuous coverage.

Will Best expressed enthusiasm about the anniversary milestone, stating: “Bring on the housemates, bring on seven weeks, and bring on a happy 25th anniversary to Big Brother!”

He added: “Last series could easily have gone on longer, so this will be a nice touch.”

Katya Jones has slammed the Strictly Come Dancing judges for their harsh comments about her dance with Emmerdale’s Lewis Cope.

On the show’s pin-off, It Take Two, she shared how unhappy she was with what they said. Katya and Lewis danced a Viennese Waltz to Teddy Swims’ Lose Control on Saturday’s (4 October) episode.

They scored 27 and the judges had a lot of constructive criticism for the actor, especially Shirley Ballas, who said she wanted more “refinement” and felt the dance was “too aggressive”.

Katya wasn't happy with the judges' remarks

However, Katya has suggested that the criticism showed the judges to be unappreciative of her choreography, how hard it was and the “hours and hours” Lewis spent learning it.

“As a pro, as a teacher, I really would’ve loved for the judges to vocalise their appreciation for what he did do, for all the steps that he spent hours and hours learning,” she said.

She added that she felt the dance was “right” for them. “Dancing is an art form, it’s an expression for me, and we put this number together the way we felt was right for us.”

Host Janette Manrara agreed that when you are dancing, you want to do the best you can, but swiftly moved on to discussing their next dance, which will be a Paso Doble inspired by the film, The Mask of Zorro.

Week three on Strictly is Movie Week, where each dance is inspired by a different film. On the show, it was also revealed that Ross King would be dancing a routine based on Thunderbirds.

The Mask of Zorro has been used during Movie Week before. Danny Mac also danced a Paso to some of the film’s music and scored 36 points.

Like Danny, Lewis is a frontrunner on the show. Some have said they are unhappy with Lewis being on the show, because of his prior dance experience.

Lewis used to compete in hip hop competitions. He is not the only celebrity this year to have prior experience in dance, as Amber Davies has training in musical theatre. Both of them are performing well, though some fans have suggested that the judges are being harsher with them because of their prior training.
