HEARTBREAKING: Coronation Street’s Betsy Swain LEAVES the cobbles after SURPRISE ARREST

    Corrie

Coronation Street spoilers have confirmed trouble for Betsy Swain next week on the ITV cobbles as she faces a shock arrest. On Monday, Carla tells her girlfriend Lisa that she’s finally managed to sell the Rovers to a man named Ben. But she’s soon worried about taking a trip to Ireland and leaving Lisa alone with her ex Becky – leading DS Swain to question Carla’s trust in her.

Lisa is forced to promise Carla that she loves her and has no interest in Becky. But is she telling the truth? Later that week, Betsy manages to persuade her mum Becky to model some designs for her college project, and Lisa is left grinning as she watches her strut around the lounge.

    Corrie

Lisa decides to join in with the impromptu catwalk and Betsy records the whole thing, deciding to upload it to her socials. A panicked Becky is left thrown, worrying she’ll be recognised as she fumes at her daughter.

Things come to a head on Friday as Kit rushes to tell Lisa that Betsy has been arrested.

While Betsy is sitting alone in a police cell, Lisa loses it with Becky and fumes that her daughter has been struggling ever since her mum came back on the scene. Becky’s stung by the words.

Meanwhile, the cops interview Betsy with allegations that according to DI Costello, she damaged a police car and resisted arrest before proceeding to attack the officer. Betsy refuses to comment.

Costello later meets with Becky and insists she needs to make herself scarce or things will only get worse for Betsy. But what will Carla make of things when she returns from her trip?

Elsewhere next week, things grow tense between Bethany Platt and Hope Stape, who are both working at the salon. Hope’s out on work experience when she’s drawn in by a client offering miracle pills that promise strong hair and weight loss.

Bethany accuses Hope of stealing the pills when they go missing, but Hope refuses to empty her purse. While Bethany grapples for it, she’s left traumatised as her stoma splits.

BREAKING: Strictly Judge Brutal Comment To Vicky Pattison’s Partner Leaves Fans In Total Shock

It doesn’t take long for the favourites to emerge in Strictly Come Dancing – and this year, the contest feels more open than ever.

Week one saw former Lioness Karen Carney and Emmerdale actor Lewis Cope mark themselves as ones to watch after delivering phenomenal jives, while Amber Davies wowed with a waltz despite having less than 24 hours to learn the routine.

In week two, three totally different celebs landed themselves podium spots on the leaderboard, throwing the competition wide open. Casualty’s Alex Kingston went to the top after breaking the curse of the samba, social media star George Clarke pulled off a powerful paso doble for second and EastEnders’ Balvinder Sopal completed the trio thanks to an energetic Charleston.

Elsewhere, the judges also named another one to watch – and that’s the celebrity I’d love to see win: Vicky Pattison.

She might not be the best dancer just yet, but that could work to her advantage. Strictly viewers (myself included) love to watch a celebrity go on a journey of sorts. With a combined week one and two score of 47, Pattison is solidly mid-table – leaving plenty of room to grow as the series goes on.

And while high-scoring dances obviously help contestants go far, it’s usually their personality and story that really help pull in the votes when the final is in touching distance. And when it comes to those two attributes, Pattison has plenty to offer.

The TV personality has freely admitted to being one of the most nervous participants in this year’s series. But you wouldn’t have known it if you just watched her foxtrot with pro partner Kai Widdrington, which was set to a Sam Fender track in a homage to her home city of Newcastle.

“You could be a ballroom queen,” Anton du Beke declared, before Shirley Ballas made the unusual choice of directing her advice at Widdrington. “This girl could possibly go all the way,” she said. “But you cannot babysit. I think she’s got the ability. Let her keep up with you.”

It was clear how much the comments meant to Pattison as she spoke to Claudia Winkleman shortly afterwards. Fighting tears, she said she “hadn’t really done a lot an awful lot of stuff to make the north east proud… especially at the start of my career”.

“It feels really nice to be able to turn a corner on Strictly… and maybe make my friends and family proud,” Pattison added.

The start she’s referring to is, of course, her warts-and-all rise to fame on Geordie Shore, MTV’s often X-rated and raucous contribution to the British reality TV boom of the early 2010s. Pattison, now 37, has previously shared regrets about some of her behaviour on the programme (namely having sex on TV) and her comments on Saturday gave us a glimpse at how much Strictly means to her.

It seems the show is offering Pattison something of a redemption arc, a chance to show the nation – and herself – how she’s changed in the 14 years since she arrived on our screens.

The candour and wit that made Pattison one of Geordie Shore’s breakout – and most successful – stars is shining through in the ballroom. It’s impossible not to love her frank and hilarious quips, and I imagine that as the series goes on – just like when Pattison triumphed on I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! In 2015 – she’ll win over more and more viewers every week. And I couldn’t be more here for it.

Nigel Farage is k!ll!ng Britain – time to deport him’

We need to deport just one person, says Fleet Street Fox. The descendant of migrants who lives on the taxpayer dime, refuses to integrate, and divides us all

'Nigel Farage is killing Britain - time to deport him'

    View 4 Images

Turns out he was right about one thing – some people cost Britain a lot more than they bring in

Today the Conservative Party is promising mass deportations and axing benefits for the mentally ill, so they all get iller.

That this comes four days after a British-born man accused of rvpe and struggling with debt suffered a violent meltdown and k!lled two people in an ill-thought out anti-Semitic ᵃᵗᵗᵃᶜᵏ on a synagogue does not seem to have given them pause for thought about whether Britain will be any better for it. On top of that, they’ll remove the rights of 70million humans just to spite a few thousand.

Whether it would make anyone safer, richer, or happier is irrelevant, because the sole reason these policies exist is to stem the flow of headlines, votes and Parliamentarians to the insurgent Reform UK, led by Nigel Farage. Which is also why Labour have said similar, and because everyone is saying the same the Tory plans have managed the grand total of one front page in today’s newspapers.

It’s all proof that, when it comes to p0litics, Farage acts like a lead weight on a rubber sheet, pulling all the crap towards him. He is a political black hole, a terrifying void that creates gravitational mass out of nothingness and eats its way through reality. If you woke up this morning, heard the news, and felt the nation was spiralling into soulless, galactically-cold entropy, you were not wrong. And this is not normal, even for a Monday.

    Nigel Farage and Lord Voldemort

You’ve never seen them in the same place, have you?

The Tories are a party, traditionally, of the landowning classes, entrepreneurial spirit and historic achievements. They are supposed to be the steady hand on the tiller, the long game, the not-getting-too-excited: the political equivalent of cricket. The Liberal Democrats were created from the dregs of the Whigs, the Puritans, the low church, happy-clappy, la-de-dah middle classes.

Labour by contrast is descended from the radicals who marched from Jarrow and were mown down at Peterloo, the organisers who imperilled the factories, shunned church for chapel, the working classes who organised and gave everyone the status quo a kicking.

You could tell them apart, once; now it’s impossible to get a sheet of paper between Keir Badenoch and Kemi Starmer, whose dad was a Nigerian toolmaker and got a good start in life thanks to some NHS tourism and a donkey sanctuary.

But it is quite the thing to see how these two very middle-class political leaders are decried as ‘the elites’ by a man who went to boarding school, has millions more than both of them, thinks Britain’s biggest problem is the NHS and all the people in it, and genuinely eats his dinner inside a golden penis.

This is a man who demanded to be British Ambassador to the US, then went to America and said Britain was s***e. This is a man who has lived off the taxpayer dime for decades, while barely lifting a finger to vote, speak, attend committees, or amend legislation. He has no net-positive contribution to the world. No new law, no improved rights, no better situation, no strengthened institution or relationship. Everything he has touched and done is the worse for it, even GB News which is going it some.

Some like to say he achieved Brexit, but that’s no accolade. Our trade deals are worse, immigration is greater and less sensible, our economy has stagnated and our international relations continue to suffer. Some might say he put immigration at the top of national debate, but all the polling shows it’s not people’s biggest daily concern even now, when it’s being debated every waking moment. The one thing he doesn’t debate is that he gets all his wives and girlfriends from abroad.

Perhaps you might like to argue he’s stimulated democracy, by ending the two-party hegemony and giving a voice to the disaffected and disengaged. But that hegemony was trimmed decades ago, and taking one look at the people he stimulates is enough to make the rest of us want to leave. More of us would, except SOMEONE took our freedom of movement, as well as the money, jobs and hope.

Every single word that comes out of this man’s poor oral hygiene is negative. Britain is terrible. Britain is broken. Britain has too much of this and not enough of that. He’ll pick up a gun and go to fight, until someone wants to fight him and then they’re being violent. It’s so unfair, we’re under ᵃᵗᵗᵃᶜᵏ, no-one is safe, woe, woe and thrice woe.

The other parties turn to address his points, and then the national narrative gets stuck in a doom-loop of Nigel-says-this-is-bad, it-isn’t-really-but-we-can’t-fix-it, so-now-it-looks-like-we-made-it-worse. The truth is this is a man who has not demonstrated a single British value – or at least, not one that is actually valued. There’s no fair play, no common sense, no self-deprecation, no humour, no irony.

He harrumphs and waves his pint about and wears tweed, but he’s enabled every pub bore to become a racist, and every news report to become a drivel of opinion dressed up as alternative fact. If this man was a biscuit, it would taste of binjuice and dust.

Without Nigel, there would be no Tommy Robinson. Without Nigel, Labour would be Labour, the Tories would be Tories, and there’d be a choice at elections and therefore more democracy. Without Nigel being a walking example of how public money is mis-spent, there’d be no talk of slashing the state, and we might assume that if more people are mentally ill, we should fix it rather than make them worse. Someone might want to ask the question about whether this man’s media presence has increased in parallel with diagnoses for anxiety nationwide, and if so whether the solution is a) cutting their benefits pr b) cutting his air time.

This man can be held personally responsible for the criminalisation of milkshakes, for goodness sake – runny ice cream, what could be more British? – and probably the defacing of roundabouts too. He depresses, denounces, and degrades everything in one way or another, and frankly it’s about time someone said what the political elite will never admit.

He refuses to integrate, he’s done active harm to the tweed industry, he’s a walking advert for the difficulty of finding a NHS dentist, he’s sucked millions out of taxpayers in return for diddly squat and he has overstayed his welcome by at least a decade. He says he’s not safe and seems to hate the place. Fine – let’s judge him as he judges others. Somewhere along the line his forebears came over here, on a small boat, won indefinite leave to remain, and the result is not an adornment to society. So give him a ticket, take back his passport, and get rid

HEARTBREAKING: Coronation Street’s Asha makes HEARTBREAKING CONFESSION that moves fans

Asha bất tỉnh trên ghế đá công viên

Coronation Street fans revealed they were left emotional by Monday’s (September 6) episode, which saw Asha Alahan (played by Tanisha Gorey) reach the breaking point and finally open up about her mental health issues after a failed suicide attempt. The paramedic was rushed to the hospital after she was found unconscious on a park bench after consuming a poisonous cocktail, which she had downed with alcohol. While her father Dev (Jimmi Harkishin) insists the incident was a mistake, Asha finally opened up to her dad and revealed that the pressures of her job had been weighing heavily on her mind.

She confirmed that she tried to take her own life after also dealing with racism in the workplace. Many viewers flocked to social media to share their thoughts about the moving episode as one reflected: “Asha’s storyline in #Corrie is close to home. That was me 28 years ago.” A second added: “Asha opening up is a big thing. It’s one of the first steps to getting the support she so needs. Hopefully, this gets people speaking up about mental health.”

Another viewer penned: “As someone who has experienced patient loss & the feelings of guilt and trauma attached to that, Asha’s storyline really hits hard. Tonights #corrie is emotional but so important.”

“Wasn’t expecting that tonight with Asha – such a heartbreaking but important storyline. And Tanisha Gorey has been phenomenal throughout,” praised another fan.

A fifth added: “Nobody noticing how Asha really felt is heartbreaking.” As a sixth simply remarked: “Oh Asha…heartbreaking.”

Talking to her dad out of denial, Asha confessed: “It wasn’t an accident. I’m so sorry.” To which Dev responded: “I wish I could’ve seen how unhappy you were, that you could’ve told me.”

“I wanted to, I just didn’t know how,” the 20-year-old added.

“But I do know that once I’d taken those pills, I knew I shouldn’t have,” fighting back tears, Asha continued: “I’m glad that it didn’t work, I’m glad that I’m here.”

Talking about the sensitive storyline, Gorey said: “I felt honoured to be trusted with a storyline of this scale and significance – the filming has, of course, been very full on, but it’s been great to get my teeth stuck into it and have a storyline of my own.

    Asha và Dev

“Stepping into the shoes of a trainee paramedic and exploring the highs, lows, and emotional challenges of their work has been both moving and eye-opening.

“It’s a role that carries a huge responsibility, and I hope we’ve done justice to the reality so many face. If this story reaches even one person, sparks a conversation, or offers a moment of understanding, then it’s served its purpose.”

  • “Unbelievable: Thomas Skinner Turns Strictly into a ‘Universe of Drama’”

“Unbelievable: Thomas Skinner Turns Strictly into a ‘Universe of Drama’”

Thomas Skinner has finally broken his silence — and admitted he “wasn’t good enough” for Strictly Come Dancing — after weeks of chaos, controversy and public outrage that turned his short-lived stint into one of the show’s most divisive chapters ever.

The former Apprentice star, known for his loud Essex charm and outspoken right-wing views, entered Strictly already fighting a storm. Before he had even set foot on the dancefloor, the internet was ablaze with fury. Viewers blasted the BBC for giving a platform to a man who had publicly praised Donald Trump and Nigel Farage. “He doesn’t represent what Strictly stands for,” one fan fumed on X, while another simply wrote: “Cancel him before week one.”

    Thomas Skinner's post-Strictly admission

Then came the meltdown. At a press event, Skinner was accused of snatching a reporter’s phone and storming out after spotting private messages urging the journalist to ask him about “a scandal from his past”. That scandal exploded days later — when fans discovered he had cheated on his wife Siobhan just weeks after their 2022 wedding.

The revelation sent social media into overdrive. For a family-friendly Saturday night show, it was a PR nightmare. Calls to remove him grew louder, and one BBC insider admitted: “Producers were terrified he’d become the new ‘villain’ of Strictly.”

Despite the noise, Skinner took to the dancefloor alongside his professional partner Amy Dowden, performing a fiery Paso Doble and an ambitious Salsa. But instead of praise, he was ridiculed. Judge Craig Revel Horwood sneered that he looked like he was “competing in a weightlifting contest in Skegness.” The audience laughed; Twitter didn’t. When Skinner landed in the bottom two and was sent home after just one week, the internet erupted again — half celebrating, half pitying him.

Thomas Skinner cause controversy before being on the show

Appearing on It Takes Two after his elimination, the Romford businessman was uncharacteristically humble. “Let’s have it right,” he said, forcing a grin. “I move like a fridge. I tried, but I wasn’t good enough.” It was a rare glimpse of vulnerability from a man who has built his entire persona on confidence and bravado.

But while his journey ended on the dancefloor, the drama continued off-screen. Hours after his elimination was filmed, Skinner was spotted outside The Thatchers pub in Brentwood, Essex, laughing with friends, clutching a wad of cash and puffing cigarettes between pints. Dressed in a flat cap and an American flag jacket, he looked every bit the unapologetic Essex lad — and didn’t seem remotely bothered by the public humiliation. “Had a blast,” he reportedly told pals. “Didn’t last long, but bosh — that’s life.”

Behind the laughter, though, things weren’t so simple. Friends say Skinner has been “deeply shaken” by the backlash. The businessman — who once called himself “the voice of working-class Britain” — has reportedly received online death threats since joining Strictly, forcing producers to bring in extra security, including a former bodyguard of Spider-Man star Tom Holland.

Tom Skinner enjoyed a few drinks

In an interview after his exit, Skinner confessed that his biggest regret wasn’t his dancing, but the pain his family had to relive. “It took a long time for my wife to forgive me,” he told the Daily Mail. “Seeing it all dragged back up was horrible. But she said it wouldn’t break us. She told me she loves me to pieces, and I love her.”

His partner Amy Dowden, who recently returned to the show after battling cancer, praised him as “an absolute beginner with heart”. “He worked so hard,” she said. “He’s not an actor, not a performer — just a bloke giving it everything.”

Strictlys Tom Skinner drowns his sorrows

But online, sympathy was scarce. Critics accused him of using his “dad with a beer belly” charm to dodge accountability. “You can’t dance your way out of a cheating scandal,” one viewer wrote. Others, however, defended him, calling him “the most honest contestant Strictly’s ever had”.

Whether you see him as a misunderstood everyman or a self-inflicted casualty of fame, one thing is clear — Thomas Skinner didn’t just lose a dance competition; he walked straight into Britain’s culture war. And in true Skinner fashion, he’s still smiling through the chaos, pint in hand, daring anyone to tell him otherwise.

This year’s series of Strictly Come Dancing officially launched on Saturday, September 20, with the first live shows taking place last weekend.

Judges Shirley Ballas, Craig Revel Horwood, Motsi Mabuse, and Anton Du Beke have returned to judge this year’s series.

    Article continues below

Nobody was sent home during the first live show last week with it being the first week of the competition, so the first 2025 elimination is set to take place tomorrow night.

Contestants taking part on this year’s series of BBC Strictly Come Dancing includes West End and Love Island star Amber Davies who is paired up with professional dancer Nikita Kuzmin, former The Apprentice star Thomas Skinner is partnered with Amy Dowden, TV personality Vicky Pattison is dancing with Kai Widdington.

Other contestants include Lewis Cope, Chris Robshaw, Ellie Goldstein, Balvinder Sopal and others.

This year, a major change has been made in the way eliminations are decided. After a dance off, when the bottom couples perform again and face a judges vote, the deciding vote usually sat with head judge Shirley Ballas.

But now, the deciding vote will rotate weekly among the four judges. This means that one week Craig might have the final say, the next Motsi, and so on. But as always, if the first three judges are unanimous, the fourth judge doesn’t need to vote

The Chase star Paul Sinha previously opened up about a rather awkward interaction with a huge A-lister who was “really nasty and rude”.

The quizzer has been a staple on screens since his debut on the ITV show in 2011. So it’s no surprise that Paul – who is on Beat The Chasers today (October 5) – has rubbed shoulders with several famous faces over the years.

However, according to Paul, there is one celeb who was “really rude” to him while at a swanky showbiz party…

Last month, Paul appeared on the Bad Boys Done Good podcast. He was asked by the hosts Tom Ward and Joe Jacobs: “Who’s the biggest [bleep] you’ve ever met in TV? This is a safe space. You could be honest.”

Not holding his tongue, Paul didn’t sugarcoat his answer. He said: “Well I was at an ITV party a few years ago when somebody basically was really, really nasty and rude to me in conversation.”

They walked off laughing at my discomfort.

The Chase star continued: “When I was trying to sort of fanboy him and hero worship him. In the end he told his mate, you don’t even know who this [bleep] is. And they walked off together laughing at my discomfort.”

Paul went and recalled the awkward encounter: “And I wanted to shout out: ‘You’re not even the funniest person in your marriage. That would be Jennifer Saunders.’”

Name-dropping the celeb, Paul claimed: “Yeah I’m talking about Adrian Edmondson… he’s a [bleep].”

‘I COULDN’T LOOK AWAY!’ — Strictly Fans left in stitches anh shock As Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink’s Trousers Cause CHAOS On Live TV… Viewers Left Gasping Over That “Unmissable” Moment On The Dancefloor!k

‘I couldn’t look away…’ Strictly fans left in stitches — and shock — as Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink’s VERY revealing trousers steal the show… viewers all saying the same thing after that bulge moment on the dancefloor…

STRICTLY fans watched Jimmy Floyd take to the floor again tonight with his partner Lauren Oakley, but something else caught their eye.

The former Chelsea and Leeds united football player, 53, scored quite well for his Cha-Cha, bringing in a mixture of 6’s and 7’s from the judging panel.

But as the camera switched positions and zoomed out so those watching at home could see his lower half, people couldn’t help but notice how revealing Jimmy’s trousers were.

The light tan coloured bottoms, held up by a slim brown belt, clung to Jimmy’s front and bunched up around his thighs.

It left very little to the imagination, framing a bulge right between his legs.

Fans couldn’t help but see it and rush to X to share their thoughts on the wardrobe malfunction.

“Waiting for all the #strictly comments about jimmy floyd hasslebanks trouser bulge,” said one user, waiting to see if others had noticed it too.

It appeared everyone else had indeed spotted it as well, as more comments came in.

“Jimmy’s trousers were doing a lot of work tonight,” shared one.

“What is up with Jimmy’s trousers?,” and “Interesting attire, Jimmy,” said others.

One fan thought Jimmy’s trousers deserved their own score since they were being watched more than he himself was.

“Will Jimmy’s trousers get a score of their own.”

Before joining the 2025 Strictly Come Dancing lineup, Jimmy was in the muddle of supporting the Three Lions following last summer’s Euro 2024 final loss to Spain.

He’s far from the first footy star to appear on the programme, following in the footsteps of others including ex-Arsenal and England stars Tony Adams and Paul Merson.

A TV source speaking on Jimmy’s inclusion in the show this year said:

“Jimmy has a huge fanbase from his years playing in the Premier League and is a very likeable character.

“Show producers are always keen to book a retired footballer as it gets footie fans tuning into the series and becoming unlikely fans of the show.

“Jimmy has a competitive edge and is going to get his head in the game.”

Buenos Aires native Jonathan “El Potro” Eniz (37-23-1, 17 KOs) proved once again that experience and persistence still matter in the regional scene, earning a convincing unanimous decision victory over Córdoba’s Oscar “El Elegante” Retamoso (7-6, 1 KO) on October 3 at the Polideportivo Municipal Evita in Dolores, Buenos Aires. The bout, headlining the evening, had the vacant WBA Fedelatin Cono Sur welterweight (147 lbs) title at stake. The judges’ scorecards told a clear story: 98-92, 97-93, and 99-91 — all in favor of Eniz, who imposed his rhythm and ring craft throughout the fight.

From the opening bell, Eniz took the center of the ring, pressing forward with body combinations and cutting off the angles of a retreating Retamoso. The veteran from Dolores controlled the tempo, absorbed punches effectively, and closed rounds with authority — particularly in the middle frames, where his experience made the difference.

Retamoso, less seasoned in professional competition, showed flashes of skill early on and in a few middle rounds, landing clean shots that briefly halted Eniz’s momentum. But his offense came in spurts, and he struggled to capitalize when openings appeared. Eniz, leaning on years of international experience, kept his composure and dictated the pace until the final bell.

With this win, “El Potro” adds another regional belt to his resume and places himself back on the radar within the World Boxing Association’s continental picture. The WBA Fedelatin Cono Sur title could serve as a springboard toward future opportunities in one of boxing’s deepest and most competitive weight divisions.
