HEARTBREAKING:From hope to horror – Manchester marks the COLLAPSE of every promise to keep Britain secure.v

“Manchester Terror Shock: FRAGILE PROMISES on Britain’s Safety Shattered”

Police and first responders at the scene in Crumpsall, Manchester.

Manchester has been thrown into chaos and grief after a horrific attack on a synagogue during Yom Kippur, the holiest day of the Jewish calendar. A car rammed into pedestrians and a man armed with a knife struck outside the Crumpsall synagogue, leaving multiple casualties. Greater Manchester Police declared “Plato” – the national code for a marauding terror attack – as two people lost their lives and several others were injured. Armed officers fatally shot the suspected attacker at the scene.

Prime Minister Keir Starmer, who was in Copenhagen for a European summit, immediately cut short his trip to return to London and chair an emergency Cobra meeting. Speaking before boarding his flight, he admitted the scale of the horror:

“The attack in Manchester this morning is absolutely shocking. Additional police assets are being deployed to synagogues across the country, and we will do everything possible to keep our Jewish community safe.”

But while Starmer emphasized government action, questions are already mounting. The fact that this atrocity occurred in broad daylight, on a sacred day, has left many citizens terrified, disillusioned, and doubtful. Social media is awash with anguish and anger, with one theme emerging again and again: can the government’s promises really protect anyone?

Across the political spectrum, leaders rushed to condemn the attack. Conservative leader Kemi Badenoch called it “vile and disgusting,” Liberal Democrat Ed Davey described it as “horrifying and appalling,” and Reform UK leader Nigel Farage declared he was “horrified” and offered prayers to victims.

Yet behind the carefully worded statements lies a deeper political storm. Farage, whose party thrives on fiery rhetoric about borders and security, now has an opening to challenge Labour’s narrative. For years, he has accused both the Conservatives and Labour of failing to control immigration and protect Britain from violent threats. The attack in Manchester, many fear, could be weaponised by Reform UK as proof that the political establishment’s “FRAGILE PROMISES” to keep Britain safe have collapsed in the face of brutal reality.

As the emergency services continue their work and communities grieve, the debate is already shifting. Citizens are asking whether Starmer’s pledges of safety are meaningful actions or empty words. If Labour cannot transform reassurances into tangible security, public confidence may erode – and the political vacuum could be filled by Nigel Farage and Reform UK, who will not hesitate to turn tragedy into a rallying cry.

Britain now faces not only a moment of mourning, but also a reckoning: are its leaders truly capable of keeping the country safe, or are we once again being lulled by fragile promises destined to shatter under the weight of reality?

Strictly Fans Moved As Vito Coppola Reveals How He Adapts Training For Ellie Goldstein’s Unique Needs

Strictly Come Dancing's Vito Coppola reveals how he adapts his training for Ellie Goldstein

Strictly Come Dancing pro Vito Coppola has revealed how he is adapting his ballroom training methods to support his celebrity partner Ellie Goldstein.

The Italian pro, 33, shared how is tailoring his teaching to help Ellie, 22, prepare for the Strictly live shows in a video made with disability equality charity, Scope.

Ellie has Down syndrome and her needs mean she has a different way of picking up her dance steps to her fellow celebrity competitors.

Strictly Come Dancing: How Vito is teaching Ellie

Vito has explained that Ellie is a “visual learner”, which means she benefits from seeing her routines mapped out. To support her while training, he sets up life-size cardboard cutouts of the Strictly presenters and judges in their actual positions on the ballroom floor.

Show hosts Tess Daly and Claudia Winkleman are standing to one side in the rehearsal room, while Shirley Ballas, Anton Du Beke, Craig Revel Horwood and Motsi Mabuse are lined up at the front.

Vito is also using a whiteboard to write out step-by-step instructions for his and Ellie’s routine. He draws symbols, including pouting lips for “pose” and is making visual comparisons for certain dance moves. He tells Ellie to think of a “flower” when opening her arms outstretched.

Vito explains: “Ellie is a visual learner. That’s why I decided to adapt my way of teaching. Showing where Claudia is, where the judges are, where the band is.”

Vito can be seen dancing alongside Ellie in the video, which has been shared to his and Scope’s Instagram accounts, while encouraging her. He tells her: “A little bit of sass to the judges! Point to Claudia! Look at this! Like a flower, we blossom.”

At the end of the clip, Ellie is beaming. She tells fans: “Training went really, really well. And I loved it! And I can’t wait to start this now. Let’s do this!”

Fan reaction to Vito and Ellie’s teamwork

Fans have been left touched to see the effort Vito has put in to make sure training for Strictly is accessible to Ellie. One commented: “Absolutely love Vito and Ellie, he was definitely the best partner choice for her.”

Another wrote: “Just brilliant to see, shows how inclusive dancing can be. Good luck Ellie and Vito.” A third praised him, saying: “Vito is brain and heart, a wonderful teacher. Nothing makes me happier than seeing Ellie learning with that beautiful, radiant smile.”

Someone else gushed: “Vito Coppola demonstrating how inclusive teaching style shows how anyone can be taught to dance and with such a wonderfully effervescent partner like Ellie Goldstein, I hope you both go far in the show.”

    Who is Ellie Goldstein?

Ellie Goldstein is already a trailblazer in the fashion world. She made history in 2020 when she became the first model with Down syndrome to appear on the cover of British Vogue. She also fronted a global Gucci campaign that same year and was chosen as the UK ambassador for the first Barbie with Down syndrome in 2023.

Ellie has always dreamed of being on Strictly, previously saying the show is her “absolute favourite thing in the world”. When Ellie’s casting was announced this August, she said she was “over the moon” to be part of the BBC show.

Ellie has since added: “It’s a show I’ve loved watching for so long, and the chance to now be part of it feels like a dream. I know it’s going to be challenging, but I’m ready to do it with the glitter and glamour and make some magic on that dancefloor.”

What was Ellie’s first Strictly dance?

For her Strictly Come Dancing debut, Ellie and Vito danced a Cha-cha-cha to Yes, And? by Ariana Grande. The pair earned 17 points from the judges.

During the show, some concerned viewers felt Ellie looked “overwhelmed” after the performance while standing in the Claudatorium. But Ellie has since reassured her fanbase.

She explained: “Sometimes my eyes get watery after a long day  I promise I’m not upset! I’m doing so well and feeling SO happy, and your concern truly means the world.”

The model added: “Yes, I have Down syndrome, but it doesn’t define me. Not even close. It’s actually the least interesting thing about me.”

HEARTBREAKING:“Day of Prayer Turns to Day of Fear – And Britain’s Security Promises Shatter”Y.v

The Prime Minister has been forced to cut short his attendance at the European Political Community summit in Copenhagen after a deadly attack outside a synagogue in Manchester left two people d3ad and several others injured on Yom Kippur, the holiest day in the Jewish calendar.

According to Greater Manchester Police, a car was driven into members of the public near a synagogue in Crumpsall on Thursday morning before a man launched a kn!fe attack. Armed officers responded within minutes and sh0t the suspected offender. The force declared “Plato,” the national designation for a marauding terr0r attack, and confirmed that paramedics treated multiple victims at the scene.

Speaking before leaving Denmark, Keir Starmer described the attack as “absolutely shocking” and confirmed he would return to London immediately to chair an emergency Cobra meeting. He announced that additional police patrols would be deployed to synagogues across the country and emphasised that the government would do “everything possible to keep our Jewish community safe.

The incident has prompted widespread shock and condemnation. Home Secretary Shabana Mahmood said she was horrified, while Health Secretary Wes Streeting called the attack “deeply chilling.” Conservative leader Kemi Badenoch described it as “vile and disgusting,” accusing the government of failing to protect worshippers on the most sacred day of the year for the Jewish community.

The timing and nature of the attack have intensified political pressure on the Prime Minister, who had been in Copenhagen to discuss migration and Ukraine with European leaders. Critics argue that Starmer’s promises to strengthen national security and protect communities have been exposed as fragile, raising questions about the government’s ability to uphold its most fundamental duty.

Among the public, there is a growing sense of unease. Many citizens have expressed deep anxiety and fear, not only about the scale of the attack itself but also about whether the government can be trusted to keep them safe. The massacre in Manchester has amplified doubts over leadership, leaving people to wonder: will THE FRAGILE PROMISES of Britain’s security finally be fulfilled, or are they destined to remain little more than empty words?

Keir Starmer is to leave a European meeting in Denmark early to chair an emergency Cobra meeting after an attack on a synagogue in Manchester.

The Prime Minister said he was shocked and appalled by the incident and that “additional police assets are being deployed to synagogues across the country”.

In a post on X, he said: “I’m appalled by the attack at a synagogue in Crumpsall. The fact that this has taken place on Yom Kippur, the holiest day in the Jewish calendar, makes it all the more horrific.

Starmer's Labour: the opposition's gone missing | Counterfire

“My thoughts are with the loved ones of all those affected, and my thanks go to the emergency services and all the first responders.”

The PM has cut short his trip at the European Political Community (EPC) gathering in Copenhagen after four people were injured after a car was driven at members of the public and a man was stabbed outside a synagogue. GMP later said two people had died.

A man – who is believed to be the offender – was shot by firearms officers after Greater Manchester Police (GMP) was called to an incident in Middleton Road, Crumpsall, on Thursday. Police said it had “declared Plato” – the national code-word used by police and emergency services when responding to a “marauding terror attack”.

Speaking to broadcasters before flying back to the UK, Mr Starmer said: “The attack in Manchester this morning is absolutely shocking, and all of our thoughts are with those affected. I am on my way back to London.

“When I arrive, I will chair an emergency Cobra meeting. I’m already able to say that additional police assets are being deployed to synagogues across the country, and we will do everything to keep our Jewish community safe.

“I’ve spoken to Mark Gardner of the CST [Community Security Trust], and Andy Burnham, the mayor of Manchester. I want to thank the emergency services for the speed of their response.”

Home Secretary Shabana Mahmood said she was “horrified” by the attack. She wrote on X: “I am horrified by the news of an attack at a synagogue in Manchester today, on the holiest day in the Jewish calendar.

“My first thoughts are with the victims, our brave police and emergency services. I am being kept updated by GMP. I urge people to follow the advice of the emergency services.”

Health Secretary Wes Streeting added: “The news from Manchester is horrifying and deeply chilling. My prayers are with our Jewish community on today of all days.”

Tory leader Kemi Badenoch said: “This was a vile and disgusting attack on a synagogue in Manchester. On Yom Kippur – the holiest day of the Jewish year – families gathered in prayer were targets for violence. My heart goes out to all those hurt and affected. I know many in our Jewish community will feel shaken. They deserve to know they are not alone.”

GMP force said it declared a major incident at 9.37am. The statement continued: “Shots were fired by Greater Manchester Police firearms officers at 9.38am. One man has been shot, believed to be the offender.

“Paramedics arrived at the scene at 9.41am and are tending to members of the public. (There are) currently four members of the public with injuries caused by both the vehicle and stab wounds. Members of the public are asked to avoid the area while the police continue to deal with the incident.”

Mr Starmer had been on a visit to Denmark’s capital city to discuss Ukraine and migration with European leaders. This morning, when he arrived at the EPC, he told reporters: “We’re certainly discussing illegal migration and looking at what further options we can take together.

“Obviously, I’ve always argued that working with other countries is always a stronger response. So we’re looking at a number of options there. There’s a big appetite for it, a number of countries wanting to work with us on what more we can do. So, we’ll be looking at that.

“There is also, then, obviously, the question of Ukraine and how we put in more support for Ukraine, put pressure on Putin.”

It came after the PM announced an end to “golden tickets” to settling in the UK with measures stripping back the rights of asylum seekers. Mr Starmer said automatic settlement and family reunion will end in a move he claims will deter small boat crossings.

Nigel Farage party ‘utter snowflakery’ blasted as ‘ridiculous’ Reform claim exposed

A Home Office minister has said it is “utter nonsense” to suggest Keir Starmer is inciting violence against Nigel Farage and accused Reform UK’s Zia Yusuf of “utter snowflakery”.

Mike Tapp, the migration minister, said the claim was “offensive” and “ridiculous” and that there is “no way on earth” that the PM, himself, or any other MP would want harm to come to their opponents.

“Of course, we want all members of parliament to be safe, and that’s absolutely important, and no-one wants any harm to come to Nigel Farage,” Mr Tapp told Times Radio.

“But, look, if we want to say what we want to say, then we’re in our rights to do that, as are they. That’s freedom of speech. This is utter snowflakery from Zia Yusuf, who claims that we’re diminishing freedom of speech whilst at the same time being allowed to say what he wants.”

It comes after Mr Yusuf, Reform UK’s head of policy, accused Mr Starmer of “inciting violence” against Mr Farage in his speech to the Labour Party conference on Tuesday. He said the PM will be held “squarely responsible for his actions” if anything happens to Mr Farage.

He said: “What we have seen over the last 48 hours is the most extraordinary, vindictive, vicious use of inflammatory language to demonise Nigel Farage, the man who Keir Starmer knows now he cannot beat at the ballot box, so he’s embarked on a campaign with his Cabinet to incite violence against him.

Mike Tapp, the migration minister, said the claim was 'offensive' and 'ridiculous'

“(The PM) said we need to, quote, go into battle. He called on his supporters to go into battle with, quote, the enemy, and said that Nigel and Reform represent a threat to everyone in this country.”

He went on to say Mr Farage’s security was reduced two weeks ago by “the authorities” and linked it to the assassination of right-wing commentator Charlie Kirk in the US earlier this month.

Reform UK’s deputy leader Richard Tice faced questions on social media after he wrongly claimed Mr Starmer called on supporters to “take up arms and attack”. He said: “He literally used the word ‘arms’, take up arms and attack, go for the enemy, just the most extraordinary language.”

In his speech, Keir Starmer called for his party to 'fight Reform with everything that this movement has'

In his speech at Labour conference, Mr Starmer called for his party to “fight Reform with everything that this movement has”, and said that he himself will “fight with every breath I have, fight for working people, fight for the tolerant, decent, respectful Britain that I know”.

He did not directly call Mr Farage an “enemy” but argued that those who say “people who have lived here for generations” should now be deported are “an enemy of national renewal”. It was considered directed at the Reform UK leader after the PM branded Mr Farage’s policy to scrap Indefinite Leave to Remain – which would put people at risk of deportation – racist.

The PM also said: “We must come together to fight Reform with everything that this movement has. We must go into that battle armed not just with words and condemnation, but with action. And that means tackling all the problems that they prey upon, all the problems.”

Former Tory Cabinet minister Nadine Dorries, who recently defected to Reform UK, was among those to criticise Mr Starmer’s speech, calling it “an utter disgrace”. She was tied in knots in an interview with Channel 4 News when she was challenged about supposedly being the “party of free speech”.

It was also pointed out Reform UK has challenged the punishment of Lucy Connolly, who was jailed after calling for migrant hotels to be set on fire on the day of the Southport attack.

She was treated like a hero as she appeared at Reform’s conference earlier this month, despite her having written on social media: “Mass deportation now, set fire to all the f****** hotels full of the bastards for all I care… if that makes me racist so be it.”

The Home Office said any such decision over Mr Farage’s security would have been made by an independent parliamentary security authority.

“I want to be absolutely clear: if anything happens to Nigel Farage or to me, Keir Starmer will be responsible,” Yusuf declared. “It is unthinkable that the Prime Minister of the United Kingdom could use words that serve as fuel for p𝟎litical terrorism.”

The remarks have raised alarm in a country that has already endured the tragic murders of MPs Jo Cox in 2016 and David Amess in 2021. Yusuf warned that Britain is again teetering on the edge of p𝟎litical violence.

“We are entering dangerous, uncharted territory,” he said. “I have seen the posts online calling for Farage to be assassinated. People talk about sniper rifles. This is no longer democratic debate. This is national security.”

Yusuf also revealed that Nigel Farage’s official security has been cut by as much as 75 percent, even as the volume of threats grows. “No one in British politics has endured more abuse than Nigel,” he insisted. “He has been called everything – racist, fascist, even a national enemy. And now those words are mutating into real threats of violence. Who can seriously say we haven’t crossed the line?”

The revelations have thrown British politics into turmoil, sparking debate over whether Starmer’s strategy has gone beyond tough rhetoric and into dangerous territory. For Yusuf, the warning is stark: this is no longer just about p𝟎litics, but about the survival of Britain’s democracy in the face of extremism and violence.
