Russell Wilson makes final decision over his Pittsburgh Steelers future after another embarrassing NFL playoff exit
Wilson also revealed the reasoning behind his final decision
PITTSBURGH Steelers quarterback Russell Wilson has shared his intentions for his future with the organization.
The 36-year-old Wilson and the Steelers suffered a late-season collapse and brutal 28-14 loss to the rival Baltimore Ravens in the Wild Card round game.

Pittsburgh’s five-game losing streak to end the campaign hasn’t shut down Wilson’s desire to re-sign with the black and gold this offseason.
Wilson signed a one-year deal with the Steelers in 2024 and wants to remain with the squad
“That’s the plan,” Wilson said Monday at the team’s locker room.
“I love it here. I think we have a great football team.
“I think they’ve known that l’ve always wanted to be here and play here, but it is also a process.”
Wilson started the campaign on the sideline and missed the first six games of the campaign due to a lingering calf injury.
He was brought in to start in Week 7 and proceeded to win six of his first seven starts.
However, Pittsburgh lost their final five games of the season.
The team failed to score more than 17 points in any of those contests.
And Wilson posted for over 200 passing yards just once during that span.

“I thought I played well,” Wilson said when asked to review his performance this season.
“I wish I (could have) played a little bit better. I have two plays I wish I had back, to be honest with you.
“The one in Kansas City and the one Ravens game; just kind of put the ball inside.
“Other than that, those two plays in particular, I competed and gave it my all.”
Wilson finished with 2,482 passing yards with 16 touchdowns, five interceptions, and 33 sacks.
The 13-year NFL veteran was asked why he wanted to return to the Steelers, and he brought up head coach Mike Tomlin in his answer.
“I just love the guys. I love the locker room. I love coach Tomlin,” he said.
“Love who he is, you know. Obviously this is place that I think can win a lot.
“I think we have a championship-caliber football team. Like I said, it didn’t go the way we wanted it to this year.
“But I I love playing football. I love playing the game.

“And, you know, if it works out that way, I’m excited to do that for the black and gold on again.”
Tomlin is expected to return for the 2025 campaign.
Since being Pittsburgh’s head coach in 2007, he has won one Super Bowl and has led his team to a .500 record or better in each of his coached campaigns.
However, he hasn’t won a playoff game since 2016.
