“Heartbreaking Final Words” – Strictly’s Alex Kingston Breaks Down in Tears On Air as She Makes Emotional Statement in Last Show

Strictly Come Dancing star Alex Kingston broke down in tears as she opened up about her time on the show. The actress, 62, was eliminated from the competition after landing in the dance-off with her professional partner Johannes Radebe. Appearing on Monday’s (December 1) instalment of It Takes Two with host Fleur East, Alex explained that an injury prevented her from performing to her full potential.

She said: “I was so excited about going to do the Cha Cha Cha but during the day I sustained an injury that just got more aggravated as the day progressed and so by the time it came to dancing, that distracted me and took my focus. Obviously it was upsetting that I didn’t do the dance that I wanted to do for Jo Jo or the audience that night.” The Doctor Who star continued: “But I did get a chance to do it again in the dance-off and I felt that I actually managed and the steps were alright. I didn’t make any mistakes.”

Johannes added: “I absolutely loved it. I do wish that there was no mistakes but like Alex said, I think we redeemed ourselves.”

Alex chimed in: “I feel like if you’re going to go out, at least go out feeling that you did the best you could in the state you were in.”

Things turned emotional as Alex watched the highlights from her 10 weeks on the show. “I wasn’t expecting that. It’s making me cry,” she said, wiping away her tears.

Recognising the impact Strictly has had on Alex, Fleur asked whether she planned to continue dancing. In response, Alex revealed that her husband has been taking Salsa lessons for the past five weeks. Her voice broke as Johannes exclaimed: “Stop!”

Alex added: “He’s been learning Salsa so he can be my partner.”

The trio were overcome with emotion as Fleur admitted: “You’re going to break me. That’s so lovely. I just love what Strictly has given to you.”

Alex agreed: “He realises how much this has meant to me, this journey, and he wants it to continue for me.”

She acknowledged that her husband will be seeking some dancing advice from Johannes, whom she has developed a close bond with over their 10 weeks of performing together.

After her exit, Alex penned online: “Johannes, Every day I have been blown away by your kindness, your elegance, and your ability to bring calm to every storm.

“You light up every room you walk into my darling man !I cannot thank you enough for helping me find my steel balls and ‘exquisite’ legs! May your bag always be filled with mints, and your heart filled with joy and happiness. Love you so much.”
