Former 90 Day Fiancé star Eric Rosenbrook has been arrested for allegedly slapping his wife during a drunken row on American Independence Day (July 4). The 47-year-old reality TV alum was taken into custody in Adams, Wisconsin, after police were called to an incident outside the couple’s apartment, reports TMZ. According to the criminal complaint, Rosenbrook’s wife — identified only as “LNM” — told officers that her husband had been drinking before heading out to a local Kwik Mart.

When he failed to return, she went to look for him and reportedly found him passed out in his car. She told police she managed to wake him and get him back inside, but said an argument erupted, waking their infant daughter. When Rosenbrook asked to hold the baby, she refused, claiming he was too intoxicated, and that’s when she alleges he slapped her.

Eric was arrested around 2am on July 5 and booked on charges of misdemeanour battery and disorderly conduct.

When officers later located him, Rosenbrook was still in his car and admitted to hitting his wife, according to the report.

Eric, who rose to fame on season six of 90 Day Fiancé, married Indonesian medical student Leida Margaretha on the show.

The couple’s relationship has long been controversial, including family disputes and a brief divorce filing last year, which was ultimately withdrawn.

While Leida has not publicly commented on the latest arrest, she is now reportedly being represented by a public relations firm.

In an earlier domestic dispute in 2017, Rosenbrook issued a lengthy Instagram video defending his actions, claiming his military training was “triggered” during a confrontation in which Leida allegedly threatened self-harm with a knife.

In the statement, Eric admitted: “Leida and I had an altercation. She was threatening self-harm. I wrestled a knife from her, but my training took over.

“It triggered my training. I went too far. Nothing serious was caused other than emotional trauma, which is severe.”

He continued: “I attempted to stand her up on her feet so I could look her in the face, but I pulled her up by her hair. She did not resist… I knew that I was afraid of her hitting herself or me.”

He also recalled keeping Leida against the kitchen wall to prevent her from accessing knives, adding that when she insisted on calling the police, he “obliged” and left the home to give her space.

Leida’s representatives confirmed that an incident had happened, but they did not reveal whether she was trying to hurt herself when the altercation took place.

“A domestic incident did take place between Eric and Leida on 1/20/2019. The couple asked that you please respect their desire to keep things private at this time.”
