Lady Gaga’s seventh studio album is here and Swifties think they heard Taylor Swift in one of the tracks.
MAYHEM released on Friday, March 7 and the album featured 14 songs, one of them being the hit single, Die With a Smile featuring Bruno Mars. On the ninth track, How Bad Do U Want Me, Taylor fans were convinced that they heard their favorite singer’s voice in the song despite her not being credited on it.
Fans have been divided over the song, with some believing it’s a discrete collaboration between the two, while others think it is a “parody” of The Tortured Poets Department singers work.
A person on Reddit wrote: “The song is How Bad Do U Want Me. I’m not a TS fan and I love Lady Gaga, and I honestly did a double take and checked to see if she was on the song. Some of the background/echo vocals sound a lot like TS. And the song sounds like it could be a TS song. I wouldn’t be surprised if it comes out that she was involved in this one.”

Taylor’s fans expressed their excitement on X, formerly known as Twitter. One person wrote: “THERES TAYLOR SWIFT BACKGROUND VOCALS ON HOW BAD DO YOU WANT ME BY LADY GAGA #MAYHEM.” Another person wrote: “As a swifite, I instantly clocked that How Bad Do You Want Me gave off Taylor Swift 1989 vibes. I recognize that sound and style anywhere. The lyrics, the structure of the song, etc. Like Gaga does NOT write like that. Lol #Mayhem.”
A third person wrote: “How Bad Do U Want Me’ really sounds like Gaga tried to do a parody of a Taylor Swift song and it ends up sounding exactly like her actual songs.” A fourth wrote: “i just got home and first time streaming Mayhem… How Bad Do U Want Me sounds like a Taylor Swift song or an ASIB soundtrack by Aly shhhbkuddnlhvdrc.”
