Afew popular Emmerdale stars could be set to win big at the British Soap Awards, exclusive odds show.
The biggest night of the year makes a comeback this year after taking a break in 2024. They will take place on May 31, airing on ITV sometime in early June. The awards aim to recognise the enormous talent in the world of soaps.
And Emmerdale have had a huge year for so many characters, including the incredibly talented Beth Cordingly who plays Ruby. So, it’s no surprise that she is one of the actors tipped to win big. But who else? And are Emmerdale expected to win Best Soap?

Emmerdale British Soap Awards nominations
Obviously as one of the biggest soaps, a lot of Emmerdale stars are nominated for awards. And when the nominations were revealed, fans were spoilt for choice.
But it seems Beth Cordingly and Ned Porteous are the Emmerdale stars expected to win big. Liam Solomon, spokesperson for Card Player, gave us an exclusive look at the odds for the awards.
The Emmerdale stars up for Best Leading Performer include Danny Miller, Beth Cordingly, Eden Taylor-Draper and Mark Charnock. While all of them have been involved in some incredibly hard-hitting storylines, it’s Beth’s portrayal of Ruby that makes her a 3/1 likely winner.
Liam told us: “Beth is currently our second favourite for Best Leading Performer and has seen strong early support since voting opened.”
And Eden isn’t much behind as she sits at 8/1 odds. At the bottom of the list is both Danny and Mark, at 25/1 and 20/1 respectively. This makes sense as it really has been a year for the women in Emmerdale.
For the British Soap Awards Villain of the Year nomination, Ned Porteous is the only Emmerdale star on the list. And it seems he has a very good shot at winning.
He currently sits at a 7/4 likelihood of taking home the trophy. The Joe Tate star made his return to the village at the end of 2024, and in three months has caused quite a lot of trouble (and stolen a kidney).
Liam said: “Ned Porteous is another big runner for Villain of the Year as the Tate’s return continues to shake things up in the Dales.”

Are Emmerdale expected to win anything else?
While Nicola Wheeler, who plays Nicola King is up for Best Comedy Performance, it seems she is an underdog to win.
She currently sits at 5/1 odds, behind Corrie’s Jack P Shepherd and Eastenders star Patsy Palmer.
However when it comes to the big one that every soap wants, it looks like Emmerdale may just miss out on it.
They’re currently second likely to take home the Best Soap trophy at 2/1 odds, right behind Eastenders.
Liam told us: “While Eastenders leads the way in the Best Soap battling, Emmerdale is still a serious contender at 2/1 – especially with the buzz around Beth Cordingly’s powerful performance as Ruby.”
He concluded: “With multiple nominations across major awards, it wouldn’t be a surprise to see Emmerdale make a big splash on the night.”
