Coronation Street viewers think they know what the ITV soap has in store for Daisy Midgeley ahead of her sad exit, after actress Charlotte Jordan was confirmed to have quit the role

There’s a sad exit on the way on Coronation Street, with Daisy Midgeley actress Charlotte Jordan quitting the role after four years.

The news broke on Tuesday night leaving viewers reeling, with many gutted to see her go. Now, some fans think they have worked out how the character will bow out later this year.

Daisy is at the centre of a baby storyline with a paternity twist set to rock the cobbles. Daisy has yet to find out whether new flame Kit Green or ex Daniel Osbourne, who she had a fling with recently, is the father of her unborn child.

With more set to be revealed about this plot and what eventually leads to her departure, fans think there could be a twist on the cards. It’s been teased that an explosive storyline has been planned for her, with an exit planned for early summer.

No date has been revealed, but it’s thought she confirmed her plans to leave the show with bosses last April, with a storyline since being written for her to bow out. Some fans believe ending things for good with Daniel will see her decide to leave the Street, starting a new life with her child elsewhere.

Others believe her exit will be linked to the 65th anniversary of the show, or perhaps she and stepmother Jenny Conner will lose The Rovers Return pub. Another theory was that her stalker Justin Rutherford could return, while a shocking d.e.ath has also been feared.

Sharing their theories online, one viewer theorised: “Daisy – a great potential story is for Daisy to have a baby but only Jenny knows who the father is. If Daisy is k.i.lled off that leaves Jenny holding the baby. She has always wanted a child.”

Another fan commented: “I’m thinking Daisy will miscarry and leave with Jenny, heartbroken. She’s really excited for the baby and that gives me trust issues with Corrie.”

A third theory read: “I think she’ll leave in time for or during the 65th Anniversary in December and Jenny will lose the pub,” as a fourth said: “Plenty of ways she can go PND and abandons her child. Her stalker returns – one of them d.ie.s. Kit k.i.l.ls her. She loses the baby/d.i.es in childbirth. Goes on the run from Kit with the baby.”

Meanwhile, actress Charlotte said of her departure: “My time at Coronation Street is something I’ll always cherish. After a brilliant four years for Daisy, it’s time for me to start a new chapter and explore other opportunities.”

A source told The Sun: “Charlotte has loved her time on the cobbles but is young, ambitious and hungry to see what else is out there for her. She told bosses last April that her next contract would be her last, giving them a year to craft an exciting exit storyline. She’s still filming now and her final scenes will play out in early summer. She’s adored by cast and crew and will be hugely missed.”
