Lorraine Kelly has shared a health update following gentle concern from fans, revealing that she had an incident with a “rhino”.

The presenter had a busy day on ITV today, with the star appearing on Good Morning Britain and Loose Women either side of her own show.

Across the appearances on the three respective shows, some fans noted that Lorraine had a “puffy” face, with some wondering if the presenter had suffered an allergic reaction.

During her appearance on Loose Women, Lorraine clarified the situation after co-star Linda Robson remarked that she was sporting a “bit of a shiner”, with Lorraine replying: “I have, I will explain.

“[I was trying] to do too many things at one time really fast,” she recalled, referencing the incident that occurred the previous day. “I had a massive basket of washing, couldn’t see, and I was going from the kitchen to the living room and couldn’t see.

“There was a wee step, and my slippers are too big also, and I fell over and fell onto a rhino! It’s a big giant wooden rhino, and I put my face on it, and I thought it would be fine. But I woke up this morning with the biggest shiner.”

Lorraine subsequently commented on the speculation that she had suffered an allergic reaction of some sort, explaining: “A lot of folks were saying, ‘Are you okay? Have you got allergies?’ Our viewers are so lovely! They were like: ‘You should try this!’ It’s not an allergy, it’s not fillers!”

Whilst Lorraine is nursing an unfortunate fall, the presenter did announce in January that she had completed the first draft for her second novel, explaining that the words ‘the end’ were “the two best and happiest words for a writer to type.”
