Prince Harry and Meghan Markle reportedly pulled their children out of their prestigious UK school after just two days because they were denied “VIP treatment”, a royal insider has claimed. Prince Archie, seven, and Princess Lilibet, five, were enrolled in the unnamed school following the Sussexes’ high-profile move back to the UK from California last month.
However, the couple abruptly withdrew the children, initially citing security concerns regarding the daily commute. It was reported that the journey to and from the unnamed campus proved to be “quite a challenging journey,” with fears that sitting in heavy traffic left the family “potentially exposed to greater threats.” However, reporting on his Naughty But Nice Substack, journalist Rob Shuter offered a very different account of the early departure, alleging that the dynamic on the school grounds was the real catalyst.

“This wasn’t just about traffic – it was about treatment,” an insider revealed on Wednesday (September 16). “Harry and Meghan expected accommodations because of who they are. The school treated them like parents, not visiting heads of state, and that became a problem.”
The insider highlighted the sharp contrast between the Sussexes and Catherine, the Princess of Wales, who routinely drives her own children to school – Princess Charlotte, 11, and Prince Louis, eight, both attend Lambrook School near their home while Prince George, 13, is now at Eton College – and manages “traffic like every other mother”.
“Harry and Meghan don’t see themselves as ordinary private citizens,” the source added. “They still expect the machinery around them to move because they’re VIPs.”

The source also questioned the couple’s stance, highlighting the contradiction between their stated desire for a quiet lifestyle and their expectations of school staff: “They say they want normality, but normality means traffic, WhatsApp groups and waiting your turn,” the insider noted.
“You can’t ask for a private life while expecting a royal motorcade. They want normal – with exceptions.”
The Express contacted the Duke and Duchess of Sussex for comment and their spokesperson described the claims as “totally innaccurate”, adding: “Spox said: ‘The decision for the children to move school was taken following a discussion with the family’s security team about the practicalities of their current arrangements.
“‘The parents remain extremely grateful to all the teachers and staff for the love, care and effort they have shown their family. This decision should in no way be interpreted as a reflection on the school or the exceptional care the children have received there.'”
