Strictly Come Dancing’s festive special winner Scarlett Moffatt has opened up about her key worry as she gets set to welcome her second child. The 35-year-old former Gogglebox star and her fiancé Scott Dobinson are already parents to three-year-old Jude. Speaking exclusively to Express.co.uk she admitted her biggest concern is that the tot won’t fully understand what is going on when his new sibling arrives.
“We got him a doll and I must admit, he still does gouge the eyes a little bit,” she laughed. “But it’s just a doll, so it’s fine. But he’s so excited, and I just hope that he’s not disappointed. I’ve got a couple of books that explain that babies don’t really play straight away because he keeps saying, ‘Is my brother out yet? Will he play Spider-Man?’ And I’m like, ‘He will eventually, but don’t expect too much big things. He’s not going to come out and start pretending to shoot webs yet, and it will take a long time. He will just sleep the most’,” she smiled.

That anxiety aside the bubbly TV star admits she is “a bit more chilled this time” as she preapres for the birth. “I think partly because I’ve got Jude coming up trying to play Spiderman puzzles with me, so you don’t really have time to sort of worry.
“I think as well, because Jude was premature and I had to have an emergency C-section and stuff I feel like I’ve done that. So even if the worst happens, I’m sort of mentally prepared for [that]. So, I’m staying positive. [But] I should really pack a hospital bag. That’s on my to-do list. But I have got a list of everything that I need, so I’m halfway there.”
The star announced her pregnancy in April this year having just returned to work after taking time off to raise Jude. It came as a surprise after undergoing a four-year fertility journey to have Jude, she had admitted she considered not expanding her family.

“It took us so long to have Jude but… on New Year’s Eve I have this tradition where I’ll write down what I would love to happen in the year and I wrote having another baby. We had the chat before, but sometimes it could be a bit heartbreaking when it doesn’t happen straight away. [But] this happened very soon,” she laughed.

One huge difference this time around is that she also has to keep a toddler entertained while monitoring her pregnancy. However she has found a way to combine business and pleasure as an ambassador for Google’s Gemidorm campaign, which shows parents how Gemini can take the pressure out of the summer holidays.
“I don’t know if this is just like a mom thing in general, but we try and do everything all the time. This just alleviates some of that stress. Google Gemini basically does all of the hard graft for you and you can actually just enjoy your time with your kids,” she smiled.
“I think there’s so much pressure on parents. Now I just tell Google Gemini ‘these are the toys I’ve got, we’re outside today, I’ve got a paddling pool – how do I create my own little Benidorm?’ It’s had me doing so many fun things like kitchen discos and fun family quizzes.
“I think [those things] become core memories, not even just for your kids, but also for you. I can’t stress enough to parents that you don’t have to go on a luxury holiday to make core memories during the six weeks holidays withtheir kids,” she said.
