Prince Harry and Meghan Markle were criticised by royal fans for a recent move, which some branded as “cheap”. The pair made headlines when Meghan shared a series of photos of herself and her husband on Instagram, offering followers a glimpse into the family’s summer. With the caption ‘Summer holiday’, one photo shows Lilibet and Archie at Althrop Estate, Princess Diana’s family home and final resting place.

It is understood that the family of four visited Harry’s mother’s family home during their visit to the UK, which also included a long-awaited reunion with King Charles III and Queen Camilla. Meghan’s Instagram post seemed to cause quite the stir among royal fans and commentators, with some criticising her for sharing a photo from Althrop Estate during a UK visit in which she was not making any public appearances. In fact, Prince William himself is said to be “sickened” by the latest move by the Sussexes.

Royal fans have shared their reactions to the post online, with passionate Reddit users offering their opinions on the Instagram post.

“Harry has a lot to be grateful for in life. How many other people get to vacation in incredible places like this?” said one user. “I really can’t take his complaints that his life isn’t just so, honestly, it makes me sick.”

Another shared: “The crazy part is I was thinking they would wait until sometime around the end of August to post such Diana ‘pilgrimage’-related pics. Lmao [laughing my ass off] I thought!

“Not only the day after George’s birthday, but the lack of restraint in posting such pics re: “pilgrimage to Diana” is so cheap and crass.”

“All this beauty and they’re still miserable. They appreciate NOTHING,” wrote another.

According to a source reported by Closer, William had quite a strong reaction to the Althrop photo.

“The fact that they shared a photo of the children on the grounds of Diana’s family home has enraged William,” the source said. “He says it’s so obvious it was done to get headlines, and that sickens him.

“He doesn’t have any objection to Archie and Lilibet paying their respects to their late grandmother, but in his view, to turn it into a publicity grab is just beyond disrespectful, and he’s incredibly sad that they would stoop this low.

“That being said, he’s not the least bit shocked because this is exactly the sort of thing he was expecting to happen.”
