‘The guilt always kicks in’
Days after Janette Manrara opened up about a “scary” decision she’s made regarding her young family with husband Aljaz Skorjanec, the star has shared a video of herself in tears.
Appearing on The One Show last week (February 20), the former Strictly pro revealed that she and husband Aljaz will be having some time apart while she embarks on a big new career move.
Just as the Strictly Live Tour wraps up, show favourite Janette will be straight back on the road for another exciting project. This time she’ll be off making her theatre debut in a nationwide tour of Chicago.
A “career highlight” for Janette, although she has also revealed feeling ‘scared’ by the impact it will have on her husband and one-year-old daughter, Lyra.

Janette Manrara heading on tour without husband Aljaz
On The One Show, host Roman Kemp asked Janette Manrara if husband Aljaz and Lyra would be “coming down” to join her on tour.
I’m flying home on days off just to cuddle her as much as I can.
“That’s what kind of… not worries me but scares me a little bit, because it’s a long contract and to be away from her,” she revealed, adding: “Aljaz is going to come to as many venues and cities as he possibly can, Blackpool being one them.
“We’re going to go back to Blackpool and I’ve been there only with Strictly so it’ll be interesting to go now with Chicago,” she went on. “But yeah, they’re going to come with me as much as possible. And I’m flying home on days off just to cuddle her as much as I can.”
Meanwhile, Roman’s co-host and mum-of-three Alex Jones appeared to sympathise. She agreed with Janette, adding: “It’s the balance isn’t it?”

Tears at naptime with Lyra
However, it appears Janette is struggling ahead of her departure.
Posting to her Instagram grid earlier today (February 25), Janette was seen in tears as she cuddled daughter Lyra.
She captioned the post: “Heading into my last week of @chicagoonstage rehearsals and meeting the full cast today. Excitement is an understatement!
“But it doesn’t come without a bit of tough realisation. Yesterday I spoke with a man who said he and his wife felt so happy when I shared the tough times as well as the fun times because parenting really is a roller coaster.
“And I immediately felt the urge to share what I had filmed yesterday while Lyra was falling asleep on me….”

She then shared: “I broke down into tears thinking how few the times will be this summer that I will get to do that again with her.
“But speaking to him (and his wife over FaceTime) reminded me that being a working parent is tough, and the guilt always kicks in. That’s why sharing our stories creates support that is crucial and reminds us we are not alone.”
She then stated: “This is to ALL OF US that are working hard to provide a wonderful life for our children. And I know that specifically in mine and @aljazskorjanec case, Lyra has a mum and dad who both do what they love and support each other in doing so. It’s a priceless lesson for life and whatever her future may hold for her. We got this team. You’re all doing amazing,” she said.
Janette then added: “P.S. Good luck to Anna whom I met on FaceTime yesterday and has an 11-month-old little girl, but is about to go back to work as a primary school teacher. I know you’re nervous, but you’ll be amazing and all will be well!”
Janette’s pals were quick to offer support. Catherine Tyldesley said: “You’ve got this my love. She will be SO proud of you.”
Meanwhile, Molly Rainford, Vito Coppola, Oti Mabuse and Gorka Marquez all showed Janette some love by hitting the like button.
