ITV commentator Narinder Kaur has shared her thoughts on social media following former This Morning host Holly Willoughby’s court verdict. The presenter admitted to driving without due care and attention and causing a collision in which a man broke his neck. On August 24, the victim was knocked off a scooter with her Mini Cooper as she turned right into a side street, without indicating, near her home in London.
The Lavender Hill magistrates’ court heard the man also broke his toe during the incident. While Aisling Byrnes, in mitigation, said Holly had suffered a “momentary lapse in judgment” which was “completely out of character.” As a result of her guilty plea, the ITV star was given six penalty points and fined £2,444, including court costs, which must be paid within 14 days. Narinder broke her silence at Holly’s punishment in an X/Twitter post and simply remarked: “No prison time. A fine instead.”

After facing backlash, Narinder defended her choice to address Holly’s verdict as one fumed: “It was an accident. It was careless driving, not dangerous driving,” to which the commentator responded: “Yes… and? I’m repeating the article.”
Another remarked: “Bit of jealousy here, I think,” with Narinder hitting back: “Jealousy that she broke someone’s neck?? I just said she got a fine and no prison time – I’ve simply repeated the article.”
At court, the Magistrates were shown footage of the collision, and in a victim impact statement, the unidentified rider told the court the manoeuvre caused him to be “thrown to the ground in the carriageway.”
Prosecutor Geraldine Dickinson said: “The defendant was driving [the Mini] in London. The intention was to turn right, which she did without indicating, and the rider was thrown from the motorbike.”
In his own statement, the rider told the court he was slowing down to stop at a red light when the Mini turned right without indicating.
Defending Holly, Aisling Byrnes added: “She was horrified to find she had caused this accident and the injury – that really upset her. She is extremely remorseful.
“She left her vehicle and went straight to the driver of the moped and offered him water and her phone and remained at the scene until the officers arrived.
“She admitted guilt at the scene and pleaded guilty via post as soon as she got the form,” Aisling added.
Passing sentence, magistrate David Charnley said: “Ms Baldwin has pleaded guilty at the first opportunity to driving without due care and attention.
“There was no use of vehicle indicators and mirrors were either not checked or for some reason, Ms Baldwin did not see the motorbike rider.
“This matter will attract penalty points to Ms Baldwin’s license – six penalty points.”
