SHOCK TWIST: Coronation Street exit ‘SEALED’ after Becky Swain’s confronted in tense scenes

Carla Connor (played by Alison King) finally came face to face with Becky Swain (Amy Cudden) during Monday evening’s instalment of Coronation Street. Viewers have been captivated by the relationship between factory owner Carla and police officer Lisa (Vicky Myers) since they became a couple last November, with the pair becoming an online phenomenon dubbed Swarla. Upon Lisa’s initial appearance, she disclosed that her wife Becky, also serving in the police force, had tragically died whilst on duty several years previously.
However, a shocking revelation emerged months ago when it was discovered that this was merely a fabrication, and Becky had actually been residing in Spain as part of a corrupt conspiracy. Following her reappearance, Becky has repeatedly appeared without warning at number six, re-establishing her bond with their daughter Betsy.

Carla was recently required to travel to Ireland for a funeral and sensed upon her return that something was amiss. The situation deteriorated when Becky kissed Lisa at a Halloween celebration late last week, prompting Lisa to confess the incident to Carla in an effort to maintain transparency.
In the most recent episode of the programme, Becky appeared at number six yet again and was startled to discover that only Carla was present. Directly challenging her fiancée’s former spouse, Carla declared: “Look, Becky, I know your daughter is here and I know you want your old life back, but the thing is, your old life, it doesn’t exist anymore. Me and Lisa jointly own this house,” to which Becky responded: “That’s just paperwork.”
Rattled, Carla went on: “It counts for summit, a bit like your old death certificate! As far as the law of the land goes, you are not married anymore. You are underground, probably where you belong.”
Following that exchange, Becky began making digs about Carla’s history and provoked the factory owner by sharing her own recollections from her time with Lisa, at which stage she was ejected from the premises. Nevertheless, Becky has proved rather effective in convincing Betsy to relocate to Spain with her, and whilst there would be considerable practical arrangements required to facilitate this, the youngster appeared resolute.
Upon returning to number six, Becky argued: “I’d make sure she was safe if she stayed longer. Maybe what she’s keen to get away from is being patronised and condescended to.”
Prior to departing abruptly, Becky explained to Lisa that Betsy could travel abroad with her for 90 days, after which she would be required to return should she fail to obtain a visa. Betsy then proposed that they all relocate together, including Carla.
Exasperated, Lisa replied: “You would have to trade everything for the life that she is promising. Her with her fake identity, you’d be as good as on the run. They don’t just hand visas out like confetti you know! I’m sorry Betsy, we can’t all move to Spain. Not to mention your mum’s quote unquote situation, this whole thing is just a pipe dream.”
When Betsy enquired whether her mum Lisa would contemplate relocating to Spain if circumstances allowed, Lisa responded decisively: “No. That wouldn’t be for me.”
Subsequently, Carla, Lisa and Ryan discussed the matter in Betsy’s absence. Lisa maintained she couldn’t relocate due to the language barrier, but Carla countered: “You’d pick it up.”
When Lisa questioned whether Carla genuinely believed she’d abandon her, Carla replied uncertainly: “I don’t know.”
Earlier, Lisa had acknowledged she would always harbour certain feelings for Becky, given their shared child.
When Carla pressed Lisa on whether she’d still desire a relationship with Becky were Carla not present, Lisa stated: “I’m not going to answer a hypothetical question,” prompting Carla to respond: “You just did.”
