BREAKING: Lorraine Descends into Chaos as Ranvir Singh Attempts to Break Down Door

Lorraine was left in chaos live on air on Thursday when the ITV fell apart

Lorraine was left in chaos live on air on Thursday when the ITV fell apart as host Ranvir Singh welcomed Strictly stars Lewis Cope and Katya Jones to the show.

Ranvir, 48, who has been filling in for Lorraine Kelly on the show this week, was left scrambling to let the segment guests through the door when it failed to open.

Introducing the segment, a VT played showing actor Lewis, 30, and his professional dance partner Katya, 36, showing off their skills on the dance floor.

Pointing towards the studio doors, which slide open to reveal the upcoming guests, Ranvir said: ‘Lewis Cope and his professional partner Katya Jones are here now!’

Johnny Cash’s song Ring Of Fire began playing as Ranvir looked towards the doors, which had been covered in a flame accent.

But as she waited patiently, it became apparent they were not going to open, and the presenter was forced to scramble to find a solution.

Getting up and heading towards the doors, Ranvir shouted: ‘Oh no, I’m going to have to rescue them’, before part of the door fell off having been pushed from the other side, leaving behind a hole.

Pulling the doors apart just enough to let Lewis and Katya through, Ranvir joked: ‘Nobody noticed, nobody noticed, we need to set that wall actually on fire, it’s dead.’

Trying to remain professional, Ranvir attempted to go on with the interview, jibing at the dancing pair: ‘Look at your two breaking my set! The show must go on.’

But as they began speaking, fellow Lorraine regular and former Strictly co-star Ross King was seen edging slowly across the background of the set in an attempt to fix the door and cover up the hole.

‘Don’t mind me,’ Ross, 63, added as the camera panned in on him in the background, freezing and pretending to panic when he was caught by Ranvir and Katya.

It’s not the first time this week that Lorraine has suffered a set mishap, as on Wednesday a cameraman crashed to the ground at the worst possible moment – and guest Nathan Sykes was left gasping: ‘I hope they are okay!’

The singer, 32 – best known for being part of boyband The Wanted – headed to the ITV studio to chat to host Ranvir about his new album, Ultraviolet.

After chatting about his new music and his wife Charlotte, Ranvir touched upon how he was recently diagnosed with autism.

As the star opened up about how the diagnosis helped him ‘understand and accept himself’, there was a huge crash behind the camera, while he was mid-sentence.

A shocked Nathan gasped: ‘Oh! I hope they’re OK?’ as Ranvir looked back and added: ‘Someone has fallen over there. That’s okay…’

The duo didn’t let the mishap get in the way of the interview and were shortly back to business.

Since making her first appearance on the series, Ranvir has been slammed by Lorraine viewers for a ‘particularly insufferable’ interviewing habit.

Fans have claimed that they struggled to follow what was actually going on in the show because its host kept interrupting its guests.

Taking to social media, several fans complained that Ranvir was consistently talking over her guests and interrupting them.

While the show itself is named after the popular Scottish host Lorraine, 65, she frequently has other presenters stand in for her when she takes time off.

Earlier this year, Lorraine herself addressed the online controversy surrounding her perceived lack of presenting her own self-titled show.

She explained that she initially took a break from presenting every day to care for her sick mother.
