Emmerdale’s Danny Miller has a history of dating a fellow soap star, but it ended in heartbreak.
The actor rose to prominence portraying Aaron Dingle on the ITV programme, making his first appearance in 2008. Since then, he’s won over viewers and been at the centre of numerous pivotal storylines.
Off-screen, Danny is happily married to his wife Steph. The couple exchanged vows in 2022 and welcomed their first child Albert in 2021, followed by Edith in 2023. However, Danny’s romantic past hasn’t always been smooth.
Prior to Steph, Danny was in a relationship with soap actress Kirsty-Leigh Porter – a romance that began on the Emmerdale set in 2010. Kirsty-Leigh portrayed Roz Fielding on the show for two years, and was involved with Danny intermittently for five years, reports Belfast Live.
In addition to Emmerdale, she has featured in Coronation Street and Celebrity SAS: Who Dares Wins. Kirsty-Leigh also joined the Hollyoaks cast in 2013, taking on the role of Leela Lomax.
Danny and Kirsty-Leigh’s love story was far from straightforward, with allegations of Danny’s infidelity causing their initial breakups in 2011 and 2012, according to The Sun.
The pair eventually reconciled and moved in together. However, Kirsty-Leigh and Danny officially called it quits in 2016 after reports emerged of Danny having an affair with an Emmerdale colleague.
Leeds Live revealed an alleged onset liaison between Emmerdale’s Danny Miller and Victoria Sugden actress Isabel Hodgins, who was involved with Michael Parr—the actor behind Ross Barton—at the time. This rumoured dalliance reportedly led to significant tension in the cast, with members reportedly taking sides.
Fans were also taken aback upon realising that Danny and Kirsty-Leigh once dated. On an Emmerdale fan page on Facebook, one user remarked upon seeing an old photo of the two: “I vaguely remember her from Emmerdale but she was in Hollyoaks for a few years. Didn’t know they dated though.”
Another said: “Oh yeah she’s on Hollyoaks!” A third added with surprise: “Oh yes!” accompanied by a mind-blown emoji.
Danny, later on, fell in love with Steph, his future spouse whom he first met in primary school when they began dating. Although their young love didn’t endure at the time, the couple reconnected in 2019. In January 2021, during his 30th birthday trip to St Lucia, Danny went on to propose to Steph.
