Meghan Markle was issued a brutal ultimatum on GB News after it was explained that she could, in fact, join Prince Harry during his UK visit, after initially pulling out. When his visit was first confirmed, it was reported that the Duchess and their children, Archie, seven, and Lilibet, five, would also be making their highly anticipated return to the UK with an overdue visit to King Charles. But the Duke of Sussex made a solo arrival after a complicated few days surrounding his accommodation and failure to secure taxpayer-funded security. Now they’re expected to join Prince Harry later this week.

GB News presenters Stephen Dixon and Anne Diamond were joined by royal correspondent Cameron Walker, who remarked: “Lots of on and offs, and U-turns. The most latest U-turn we can confirm is that Meghan won’t be in the NEC in Birmingham, for the Invictus Games, one year countdown.” The reporter continued: “If Meghan’s expected, you can understand why she doesn’t want to get caught up in the media storm that’s been created… nonetheless, it’s been widely reported that Meghan is going to come to the UK with the two children.” This prompted Anne to issue an ultimatum to the Netflix star over her online presence.

The journalist stated: “She [Meghan] would actually go up in public estimation if she were to visit, but we didn’t see a thing; it wasn’t public. And also, when they go back to America, they don’t talk about it.”

Cameron agreed: “I think you’re right, Anne. She would go up in public estimation, in fact, both of them would if the whole thing was done privately. If they do secretly meet the King, and nobody leaks anything.

“Nonetheless, it’s an unfortunate situation where we’ve seen that Harry and Meghan’s side do brief stuff to the media. Including the fact that on Monday, they said that Harry would be staying at Buckingham Palace and that turned out not to be the case.”

The reporter added: “It’s important to remember the King is 77 years old, he’s still undergoing cancer treatment, and he probably does want to see his grandchildren. He’s met Princess Lilbet once in 2022, and he’s met Prince Archie on a handful of occasions, and I think, as you say, the best way forward is for the whole thing to be done in private.”

If they do come over, it will mark the first time Meghan and the couple’s children, Archie and Lilibet, have visited the UK in four years, since they travelled over for Queen Elizabeth II’s Platinum Jubilee celebrations in June 2022.

This would also mean they could finally see the King again as a family of four, since the Monarch has only seen his youngest grandchild once before.

Meghan had been due to attend an Invictus Games event alongside her husband at the National Exhibition Centre (NEC) on Friday (July 10). But sources confirmed on Thursday evening that Meghan would not be joining Harry for the event.

If they do decide to make the trip, Meghan, Archie and Lilibet will only attend private family gatherings. They will not be pictured in public.
