Emmerdale Star Offers Insight Into Jacob’s Terrifying Encounter With Cain and the Intense Threat He Faces Amid Ongoing Drama Involving Sarah’s Baby Plot
Emmerdale star Joe-Warren Plant has explained Jacob Gallagher’s terrifying Cain Dingle threat in Sarah Sugden’s baby plot.
Viewers will know that Sarah has recently decided to try for a baby using IVF and was subsequently diagnosed with cervical cancer.
Despite the diagnosis, Sarah was told there was still a chance that she could undergo IVF treatment to have a baby.
In scenes set to air next week, Jacob, who has offered to be Sarah’s sperm donor, accidentally tells Cain about Sarah’s IVF plans, thinking that he already knows.

Furious that Jacob is more involved in his granddaughter’s life than he is, Cain becomes angry, and threatens Jacob.
After Sarah arrives to witness the violent display, Cain soon regrets his angry reaction, which has affected his relationship with Sarah.
Asked what it was like to film the scenes where Cain threatens Jacob, Plant said: “It was incredibly fun actually.”

Speaking about the upcoming scenes, Plant said he hasn’t filmed much with Jeff Hordley, who plays Cain, during his time on the soap.
“So it was nice just to see his approach to things and be able to do scenes where it’s just us two and having direct contact,” he said.
On having an on-screen scuffle, Plant said: “It’s always fun doing scenes where there’s a little bit of a tussle involved, and there’s coordinators and things like that. It was a really fun day, actually.

“And we probably had at least 20 takes on that one shot, just because of technicals. So by the end of it, both of us were absolutely gassed. It was a very fun scene to film.”
Questioned whether Jacob can hold his own against Cain in the tussle, Plant quipped: “I don’t think anybody can hold their own against Cain.”
He added: “Jacob’s not really a violent individual, so he tries to de-escalate the situation. I don’t think he’s going to go out looking for a fight with Cain, but he definitely feels intimidated in that scene in particular, definitely.”
Emmerdale airs on weeknights at 7.30pm on ITV1, and streams on ITVX.
