The Kansas City Chiefs aren’t expected to claim another Super Bowl until at least 2040

Kansas City Chiefs fans may not be thrilled with the latest artificial intelligence prediction regarding the team’s future as according to AI-generated forecasts, the next time they win a Super Bowl could be as late as 2040.
That would be long after the era of Patrick Mahomes, Travis Kelce, and head coach Andy Reid, who have managed to win three rings since 2019 as well as making the Super Bowl in 2019/20 and 2024/25 too.

However, after the 40-22 loss to the Philadelphia Eagles on February 9, does that mean their recent success is officially coming to an end? If AI’s prediction is to be believed, Kansas City’s golden era may soon fade.
They’re next expected to win the final game of the NFL season in 2040, although their opponents are unknown. After that? Chiefs Kingdom can expect another barren run. They’re not expected to win again until at least 2076.
For Mahomes, who is widely regarded as the heir apparent to Tom Brady’s NFL throne, if AI’s forecast holds any weight then his pursuit of GOAT status may be in jeopardy in his quest to find four more rings to match Brady’s legendary seven-ring career.
The idea that he won’t win another championship before 2040 seems far-fetched to many football fans, especially considering his Chiefs contract expires in 2031 when he could be free to leave for new pastures.
That’s provided that the Arrowhead Stadium’s front office doesn’t trade him away as he reaches his mid-30s to focus on their own rebuild if they’re on such a barren run, but fans aren’t convinced the run will ever happen.
Can AI predict the NFL’s future?
AI also painted a bleak picture for the New England Patriots, predicting that their Super Bowl drought will extend until at least 2075 but surprisingly, it was much more optimistic about the Carolina Panthers.
The NFC South side have been forecast to win four championships in 2041, 2051, 2058, and 2065 in what would be a frankly dramatic turnaround for the franchise at the Bank of America Stadium.
So while AI models use data trends to make predictions, they fail to account for the unpredictable nature of the NFL, although it tries as it tips that in 2031, Mahomes could end up playing for the Bills, the same team forecasted to win the Lombardi Trophy that year.
