Naga Munchetty is “already saying her goodbyes” to her BBC Breakfast co-stars after reports she is “set to quit” her role as news anchor on the morning programme. According to a body language expert who spoke exclusively to Express.co.uk, Naga, 50, is already resigned to leaving her role after the show was hit with bullying allegations.
Now Naga’s agents are reportedly in talks with rival news station LBC to explore fresh opportunities – and according to Inbaal Honigman, they’ve been going well. The body language expert analysed clips of Naga presenting this morning alongside Charlie Stayt (July 17) and found her to be “incredibly reserved” – but showing a “key clue that she’s about to reveal something big”.
Inbaal said on behalf of Casino.co.uk: “Her facial expression while opening the show is completely neutral, with neither a smile nor a frown indicated. This controlled and perfectly even facial cue shows that Naga isn’t engaging with what is being said and communicated around her – she’s in her own thoughts.
“She’s not responding to the items on the show or to her co-host, she’s thinking about her own circumstances and focusing on doing her job. The lack of facial engagement suggests to a lack of emotional engagement with those around her, as if she’s starting to say her goodbyes in her mind.
“Her physical stance is similarly detached, she’s leaning slightly away from her co-host, showing a lack of engagement there too. In addition, the presenter’s legs are crossed and her arms are covering the front of her body in a protective stance,” Inbaal added.

The expert continued: “She’s trying not to give anything away and is creating a little fence of protection around her using her arms. Naga’s hands are embraced together, as if she’s holding her own hand for comfort. This is a self-soothing gesture.
“When introducing the first item, the presenter does something very curious with her hands, she unfurls her right palm, and uses her left thumb to rub the middle of her upturned palm. It is a self-pacifying gesture, but interestingly, an upwardly turned palm is linked with honesty, as if she’s got nothing to hide. So Naga does not want to be hiding her plans and will shortly reveal her next moves.”
