Taylor Swift fans have been on the edge of their seat as they hoped the singer would make an appearance at the iHeartRadio Music Awards.
As the Swifties waited to see if she made an appearance, they could take comfort in the fact that the show with have a pre-recorded performance from Taylor’s record-breaking Eras Tour’s first tour stop at State Farm Stadium in Glendale, Arizona.
But in the coming-up-on before commercials, the announcer said that “never before seen” footage would be shown of Taylor Swift’s performance – and fans took to Twitter, now known as X, to correct them.
“‘Never before seen performance’ unless she filmed a performance inside the cleaning cart i promise you we’ve seen it #iHeartAwards2025,” one person wrote. Another chimed in: “Apparently they missed the fact that we were glued to our computer or phones screens for live streamings if not at the show. Lol.”

A third mentioned: “I watched those live streams religiously and they’re going to give me a never been seen performance yeah right.”
In the end, fans were treated to footage of a performance of ‘Mirrorball,’ one of the surprise songs Taylor sang that opening night in Arizona.
Regardless of some fans already seeing the performance before, either through a janky live stream or in person, Swifties still got emotional watching the footage. “Crying to mirrorball live was not on my bingo card for today but I’m happy about it,” one wrote.
“All I do is cry, cry, cry after seeing this performance,” another added. Someone else said: “Taylor’s speech was so beautiful AND MIRRORBALL OH MY GOODNESS THAT WAS JUST PURE MAGIC thank you taylor for blessing my ears tonight.”
Before the footage, a video of Taylor accepting the award for Tour of the Century played. Taylor had 10 nominations of the night – tied for the most with Morgan Wallen.
She was nominated for Artist of the Year, Best Collaboration, and Pop Artist of the Year. Taylor won fan-voted awards like Best Lyrics and Best Music Video for Fortnight; Favorite On Screen for the Eras Tour film; Favorite Tour Style; Favorite Tour Traditions for her surprise songs; and Favorite Surprise Guest for when her boyfriend Travis Kelce came on stage during one show.
