ITV fans who tuned into the latest episode of Coronation Street were left making the same complaint within minutes after Todd Grimshaw (played by Gareth Pierce) argued with Theo Silverton (James Cartwright). After spending the night on Billy’s sofa, Todd heads home to face the wrath of Theo. As he apologises to Theo for staying the night at Billy’s but swears nothing happened, Pete emerges from the bathroom. Theo accuses Todd of sneaking around behind his back for days before Todd comes clean about his health scare. But when Theo twists the situation and tries to blame Todd, Todd finally snaps and orders him to pack his bags.
Despite some fans being delighted with Todd finally coming to his senses, some fans complained that he’ll probably take Theo back. One person said: “Finally, Todd has found his voice. I hope this is for real – this storyline is a big fat yawnfest. Someone kill Theo or something and put us out of our misery.” A second also commented: “Good on you, Todd. Sadly I think he will take Theo back. #corrie.” A third also chimed in: “Get rid of him Todd you know you can do better then Theo. #Corrie.”
Viewers who have been following Todd Grimshaw’s romance with Theo will know well that the couple’s relationship has been anything but plain sailing. Todd has faced several setbacks as he attempts to help Theo come to terms with his sexuality.
Last month, Todd was surprised when Theo agreed to a night out in the gay village with Sean, James, Mary, Glenda, and Christina. In the club, they’re all having a good time until a man recognises Theo, with a look of shock on his face.
Theo stares at him until Owen turns away and hurries out. Urged on by Theo, Todd joins his friends on the dance floor. As Theo heads to the toilets, Owen approaches, determined to have it out with him. Theo manhandles Owen out onto the street and orders him to back off.
Elsewhere, Betsy persuades Becky to model some of her designs for her college project, and Lisa can’t help but smile as Becky struts around the lounge. When Lisa joins in, an amused Betsy records the spectacle and uploads it to her social media. Becky is thrown into panic and points out that people might recognise her.
What’s more, having taken a call from the rival garage, Abi tells Roy that she didn’t get the job. Abi then barges her way into No.13 and accuses Kevin of sabotaging her chances.
